How deep should we look for evidence of first Americans?

Try the results of the next Presidential/Congressional elections. (I know its off topic but couldn't resist the headline)

Interesting article. At the moment lots of folks working for Department of Agriculture, Interior, and state highway departments are out RECERTIFYING wash/wear rates in rivers and streams where they intersect roads, and where bridges have been built.

That's one of the benefits flowing from the collapse of the big bridge in Minneapolis/St.Paul.

These people are getting a chance to see "way back" into the banks they're working and the odds are good somebody will find something like this, and probably all over the place.

All you have to do to understand what happened to permanent hunting camps earlier than Clovis is recall the vast amount of iron dust in North America just before the end of the last glaciation.

Those settlements are there, but they are covered by iron oxide up to your ears and beyond. Plus, the Younger Dryass resurgence coverd up the best hunting grounds. The better "wind blown loess" comes later on although there's a lot of that dropped all over the place hiding the good stuff.

How deep?

I've been down 14 feet deep in a site -- and that one only went back some 4,000 years.

Another site (not one of mine) I visited when they were at 26 feet. That layer was about 4,500 years old.

Truly old sites can be very deep indeed, and extremely hard to find for that reason, as well as for their scarcity.

You wrote: “As to Carter himself, he is not simply an inept, idiotic man. He is an evil and vindictive one.

The British Foreign Office sent somewhere between 200 and 400 trained observers to the USA to monitor the election between Carter and Reagan to spot if the Soviets were going to pour in large sums of money to buy the election for Carter.

He was generally considered a Soviet/Communist MOLE and appears to be proving they were right with his penchant for Communist friends like Castro, Chavez, Ortega and others. And with Islamic Jihad a “virtual” Marxist organization using the name of a religion, his meeting with Hamas etc., underlines this.”

Of course, it all makes more sense now. Carter is a slime ball, but he has “status” that would make any accusation like this look foolish,...uh, let me change that to “HAD status”: his arrogance has cast away any cover and his kissing the butts of the murderers in the name of “peace” has made him more transparent than ever.

Too many people in the world thought the “danger of Communism” ended with the fall of the Soviets. It didn’t, the Commies “played possum” for a while and have relaunched their aim of world domination, only they have chose to use our own ideas against us. Putin of the KGB rules Russia like a Czar, and is one of the richest men in Europe, but his commie past and present shows more vividly every time a “dissenting voice” is silenced by murder. communism is the driving force behind the Islamists, they get the “useful idiots” to die, and march in when the time is right. I could go on and on, but lets just let names make the point: China, North Korea, Iran, and the work of the “Socialist” Billionaire, George Soros, whose money is probably behind the weakening of the dollar and the outrageous speculation prices for oil.

The commies turned to capitalism to destroy democracy, unless we can stop them again.

I enjoy your threads and just made a mistake. Carter ticks me off so much I just don’t see straight some times.

I found it interesting! I scanned the bottom half of the article, and didn’t notice Carter’s name, so I was taken aback when I saw your last comment. LOL—

I was wondering if the mole Carter had dug down 26 feet and someone had discovered him in the red dust.
