Don’t hold your breath waiting for the fringe on FR to apologize for using the same slur. Several months ago I posted an article by former Gore advisor Naomi Wolfe also using the traitor meme. Most readers of the thread were outraged, but before and since I’ve seen it turn up in threads.
I’m sure the left wingnuts aren’t done with it. I’m equally sure the right wingnuts aren’t done with it. To the shame and discredit of both.

I don’t know all the history surrounding McCain and what he did and didn’t do while a P.O.W.
I do know that he refused to be released when he could have been.
After spending five and half years in the Hanoi Hilton, I can’t imagine anyone not “breaking.” So you’ll never hear any criticism from me regarding that issue.
