What hath light to do with darkness?
Witty.
If that was the ONLY mark against him, and if he didn’t still strongly support it, I would gladly vote for him. As it is, NO WAY!!
Well the reality is that McCain is a pig that doesn’t look much better in lipstick. The reality is that he’s the Republican nominee. I see that as a reflection on the Republican party not elections. Politics has long been ugly and corrupt and that is how it is. That is the reality of it. Hating it seems like a waste of energy to me. But trying to deify this thoroughly repugnant candidate seems even worse. It’s a denial of reality. I have to agree with DoughtyOne’s take on this.
I believe you might want two threads: one to pray for McCain and his ilk and the other for Conservatives. Otherwise, you will face a lot of contention that will disrupt things.
I am sorry that you are conflicted. I am not conflicted at all. There is no one, with a chance of winning, that I can vote for. That is a disappointment to me but not a conflict. I know where I stand.
1. Gang of Fourteen (Kept some of President Bush's best judges from being presented for a vote)
Got Janice Rogers Brown and others on the bench
2. McCain-Fiengold (Assault on Free Speech and Pro-Life groups and Gun-rights groups)
Unconstitional so irrelevant.
3. McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty for criminal Illegal Aliens)
This isn't law. In addition, you are either using a loose definition of criminal or are lying.
4. McCain-Lieberman (50 cents a gallon tax)
When did this become law?
5. Total support for global warming scam, including carbo cap and trade system.
Evidence?
6. Support for embryonic stem cell research (Murder of unborn babies).
No longer relevant as medical technology has advanced past the need for them.
7. Leaked top-secret information concerning CIA prisons in Europe
Evidence?
8. Wants to close Gitmo and give Terrorists access to our legal system.
Close gitmo yes, legal system you have no evidence of that
9. F grade from Gun-Owners of America.
who?
10. C- grade from NRA.
better than clinton and obama
11. 60% score from American Conservative Union in 2006
McCain is over 85% with the gop
12. Wants to bail out sub-prime losers (many of which are either illegal aliens or lied on thier applications) with US tax money. 13. Voted against President Bush's tax cuts (called them tax-cuts for the rich)
supports them
14. Flirted with the idea of crossing over to the Dems in 2004.
More horse feathers. You have no idea what you are talking about. McCain campaigned hard for President Bush in '04.
You don’t think he’s a decent man? Nor, as good as Dole?
He’s more like Dole than you think.
How old are you?
Well, I’ll relate a story to you.
My husband participated in Linebacker II.
Look it up...
I don’t like some of his policies, but don’t ever think that he’s not a war hero.
LOL!
You’re a good person. ;o)
Man...or woman?
I think he’s a vile, disgusting man.
He’s not trustworthy, and he’s not honest.
Well...GOOD for YOU!
I do, too. ;o)
Megabump! NO MORE IDOLATRY THREADS!
What politician is?
McCain calls Jeffords' switch lesson for GOP FR May '01
McCain may leave Republican Party to fight Bush in 2004
His staff set up policy think-tanks and other groups to lay the ideological foundations for another third-party challenge in the Bull Moose style.
You really ought to read this article. It has nothing to do with his military service.
God love you both!
I was beginning to think we worship other gods here.
Then why the conflict? ; )
Jim Jeffords was a blue blooded country club republican. The Gop big tent isn’t big enough for a true conservative to surive in Vermont at this time. Those people up there are nuts.
Why, thank you! Your kindness is only exceeded by your good looks and gentle manners! :D
