My position is that the First Baptist Church of whatever podunk town this compound was closest to had the most readily available buses which were commandeered by local law enforcement in accordance with the law. Perhaps the local law enforcement officers believed the children to actually be in imminent danger and wanted to get them out and not wait 24 hours to round up the appropriate number of Greyhound buses. It is very likely that the First Baptist Church had the largest gymnasium.

Not everything is a conspiracy. And your wish to turn this particular coincidence into some sort of indicator of a larger plot simply means you are unhinged when it comes to Baptists. I’m afraid it’s that simple.

Ah, what the FLDS have experienced at the hands of “intolerant Christians.” I thought I was dealing with someone capable of rational thought. You are instead an apologist for a child-abuse cult. Gotcha. Ignore the first whole part of my post. It won’t make a lick of sense to you.

So, then one can assume that all Civil cases involve armed invasion of private property and forcibly removing 400 children from their mothers - all on a bogus phone call?

Wow, why even bother with the court system at all? The point I am making is that the element of Due Process was completely ignored. Just as in the Duke Lacrosse teams fiasco. Guilt was assumed, rights were trampled and lives were placed in jeopardy by a DA trying to get re-elected.

Here, we have a prank phone call; armed invasion of private property, search and seizure of homes and for what cause? That there were some 18 yr old girls who were pregnant? You can find that in almost any high school across the nation. If statutory rape is going on; then the state should and must step in. However, there appears to be no basis for this charge at all.

I am not FLDS, nor do I support them. However, what ever the gov’t can do “FOR THE CHILDREN” to them, they can do to you and I tomorrow. I’d like to see those responsible for this fiasco lose everything they have - but unlike the way the FLDS are being tried, I’d want them to get a chance to defend their actions in a court of law. It appears that they don’t have much of a leg to stand on.

The polygamist father it both wrong and right. He’s wrong because he is a pedophile, he is right because the CPS would love to take the children of every Christian family.

You know his man is a pedophile how? You have personal knowledge of this so-called cult, or are you just going on what the MSM is saying? Personally, I will wait until the DNA results come in and also no ages for the mothers have been given. Also, let us assume for a minute these women were forced into marriage, which is what many do gooders on this forum and in the government are saying, then why take the children away from them? What wrongs have they committed? CPS is a sham in most states, in CA they take children at the drop of a hat. I don't trust them, or anyone in government to tell you the truth.

To blindly condemn these people without all the evidence in is worthy of liberals not conservatives. The reason you, and other FReepers condemn these people out of hand is because you don't like the idea of polygamy, it has nothing to do with underage girls being forced to marry, you are using that as an excuse to push your moral judgments onto other people.

You are working under the incorrect premise that this was entirely based upon one phone call. It was not. Now email Warren to see what your next response should be.

But it doesn't like these people, so it kidnaps their children.

Have you ever thought about writing a book?? I would suggest a title, "Going Through Life Stuck ON Stupid", might make you a million bucks.

My wife has a social work degree and once worked for the state of Texas, not in the CPS but in the same building. If you knew what they are like, and how they view conservative Christians, you would be more concerned.

Did this forum turn into a splinter Mormon cult while I wasn’t paying attention?

Remember Texas law allows for minors to marry with the consent of their parents at the age of 16.

But they can't marry an already married person who haven't gotten a divorce from his or her current spouse. If parents "consent" to that, they are really consenting to the rape of their minor child. BTW while Texas recognizes common law marriages, it is necessary to get a divorce from a common law marriage before marrying someone else.

The mormons were perscuted, and driven from their homes. Their leader, Joseph Smith was arrested on trumped up charges, along with his brother Hyrum Smith. A crowd stormed the jail, and the Sheriff walked away. Hyrum Smith was murdered by a shot through the jail cell door, in his attempt to keep the crowd from getting into the cell. Joseph Smith was murdered in the same cell, after the Hyrum was shot.

The Mormons fled to Utah, because they were driven out. There is only one Extermination Order on the books in the entire history of the USA. Missouri issued an Extermination Order, where Mormons could be shot on sight.link

This case, by the DA's own admission was gathered over a period of several weeks. Are you saying that there no public school buses in podunk, TX; but the only busses available are at the 1st Baptist Church? Then you accuse me of being irrational?

It’s not like this happened in Detroit. The local law enforcement is most likely very limited in its resources. Probably the owner of the most buses in the area is the First Baptist Church. And in good Texan form, the LEOs either didn’t consider or care how the letters “First Baptist Church” on the side of the buses taking kids away from a potential situation of harm. Nor should they.

What does typical or your fantasy smears have to do with legal anything?

If the state can prove that some individual man there has committed some crime or other, it can bring charges against that individual and prosecute him, prove its charges in court to a jury of his peers, and punish him in accord with the law.

In case nobody noticed, it hasn't.

Without having first proven anything about any actual crime, it has instead kidnapped hundreds of children, separating them not from their supposedly abusive fathers, but from their mothers, who haven't harmed a fly.

Why? Because the state doesn't want the mothers talking to the children about what is happening and what is coming next.

The state would dearly like to have a Lacan-ian fantasy show trial, of the epidemic fraudlent kind we've seen for over twenty years, the sort Janet Reno cut her teeth on. But it is scared that the kids might say they like it there and miss their mommies.

The kids should be returned to their mothers yesterday, and the state should put up or shut up, and either arrest men it intends to charge with specific crimes, or drop it. It should stop harassing and seizing their families, like a bunch of Nazis, and drop the show trial nonsense.

The same thing that got Joseph Smith in hot water is getting these Jeff's devotees in a bit of hot water.

No. I'm saying the most readily available were those of the 1st Baptist Church. Unless the LEOs wanted to disrupt the local schools. Baptist weren't gonna use their buses till Sunday.

If you are a conservative Christian that thinks it's ok to rape little girls, you would really be concerned if I knew you.

But to judge every employee based upon the conduct of a few is a bit far out there.
