This belief that “free trade” will somehow conquer Communist China is weird, and really is damaging America’s long-term prospects.
We are de-industrializing our own country. More effectively than a fleet of enemy bombers could.
Would we have sent our jobs, our factories, and our technical capabilities, to the Soviet Union??
Many Americans tried to get us to help the "moderates" in the Soviet Union lest we play into the hands of the Soviet hard liners and there would be war. It would be our fault, of course.
But the brightest and least avarice among the "Greatest Generation" said, NO! Proving that they could not only win hot wars but they could also win Cold Wars.
