The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

!*#?

Mental hygiene, is that a euphemism for brain washing?

It seems reasonable to expect that someone going to Burger King for the Triple Burger with Bacon has some clue that it’s not exactly the same as eating a small salad with nonfat cottage cheese

The first is much tastier than the second. :)

Portion and ingredient ratios are not precise in restaurant food the way they are in fast food. This may have something to do with it.

I’d like all the nutrition info posted on everyone’s menus if you asked me.
Making informed nutritional decisions when eating out is good. Not just calorie counting but carb and fat content, vitamins etc.

I think you can find that information on the websites of most large restaurant chains.

Even the smaller places will usually post their menus online, and with a little googling you can find out the general nutritional information for each dish.

I am getting tired of the STUPIDITY in this country. All one has to do is go to the restaurant’s website for ALL KINDS of nutritional information that is posted or ASK IN THE RETAURANT. DUH! Let’s have MOMMY and DADDY GOVERNMENT. Gees. GROW UP PEOPLE! I said this to a couple of ladies at work who wanted the government to do this. And when I told them just what I had posted here, one replied, “People are too STUPID.” LOL. [Shaking my head.]

It's not the Calories, it's not the percentage of fat, or carb. count that is making people over weight or obese. It's the total lack of exercise and physical mobility. Our bodies like furnaces burn what is put in, if there is no activity, then all that energy is stored in fat cells in hopes of it being utilized for activity. Labeling what food contains calorie wise, etc., etc., is not going to stop people from the habit of choosing what they like to eat. They will eat what they can afford to eat or what makes them happy to eat.

Treadmills should be mandatory at the fast food places. Picture this!

NO drive thru windows, just counter service. You must enter through a treadmill and wait your turn before ordering. (sarc) ):o)

Next you will have to get on a scale before you can order. If you are not the ideal weight you will get told," SORRY, cannot order that double whopper!"

Then you will be given a list of what you can order..

I find it interesting but not surprised that the upper scaled restaurants such as the type the mayor might go to eat aren’t required to label calories. _____________________________________________________________________________ Upscale restaurants, one of which I work in. Cannot label food on the menu. It is very expensive to have your menu and food items analyzed for calorie count, fat %, Carbohydrate %, salt %, etc. etc. It costs approximately $50,000+ to do the average menu, then you have to consider any chef specials that come forth, and it takes months to do it also..

The cost for analysis can be offset due to the fact they have the multiple locations, and the menu is pretty stationary as well.

No KFC extra crispy 12 pc buckets if Gubmint is paying for your healthcare. Their house, their rules.

Sad that their "minds" can twist it in that way. Say there are 10,000 citizens paying for their healthcare. The goobermint takes their money and start paying for their (now crappy) healthcare. They've already been injured by the decision and somehow the goobermint thinks that by confiscating the money in preparation to pay the medical bills, it somehow became "theirs". The original source of the money is still the same patients who paid it before. The goobermint cannot (rightly) influence lifestyle decision because "they" are paying for the care. They aren't going to excuse those whose lifestyles they think are unhealthy from paying into the system are they?

First the “Educational Informational” campaign, for the sake of awareness, and, then, POW! Alice, right in the keester.

Caloric limitations....debit caloric cards or chips, not those kind, the kind under your skin.

Ah Loooove It!

Now, when I get a craving for a street sausage or a Whopper, I will certainly take caloric count into consideration.

As I’m sure the typical person would!

Young men will compare to eat the highest caloric items on the menu!

Inshallah.
