SAN ANGELO, Texas -- More than 400 children taken from a ranch run by a polygamous sect will stay in state custody and be subject to genetic testing, a judge ruled Friday. State District Judge Barbara Walther heard 21 hours of testimony over two days before ruling that the children be kept by the state. Individual hearings will be set for the children over the next several weeks. She ordered that all children and parents be given genetic testing. Child welfare officials have said they've had difficulty determining how the children and parents are related because of evasive or changing answers.

Ok genius. So if an underage girl gets pregnant, it HAS TO BE A OLDER MAN???? It can not be a boy who is under age who impregnates the younger girl—where is the proof? Let us see the police start grabbing black kids whose mothers are underage and pregnant. When can I expect to see that?

You apparently don’t know any tween-to-teen girls who have been in state custody.

This was your comment: How do you think the underaged girls got pregnant? Don’t you think that qualifies as evidence?

You did not quote anything else or supply any other type of "evidence". Thus my comment stands.

OH , I forgot.. damn the constitution.. we’re on a witchhunt.

The men in charge of these compounds haven't been issuing birth certificates to these children in order to hide their age. Evil being done to children is the worst offense, and I hope these men are brought to justice. The judge is requiring DNA tests so that the state can link parents to children. These kids don't even know who their parents are. I support all efforts to protect these kids.

My comment was in response to the "evidence" being pregnant young girls and no I do not support EITHER.

Did you bring your torch to burn the place down too?

I am watching some of the press on this business. My view is that in some sort of vague way, some of them are trying to attack something or other. I got this impression because of the "Cochran effect". Introducing a red herring. That of playing up the lack of positive identification of the caller, making allegations. Then throwing in a 33 year old female who is somewhat disturbed. This sparked off the raid by authorities.

As was said on a television show tonight, by a woman, this is of little account. What is important is just what has gone on. Once again though, is the sickening realization that underlying the whole cult, is a massive welfare fraud. If it is not that, then it is an abuse of a taxpayer funded system.

Without welfare benefits and other applications, the cult would hardly exist as such.

So, the men of this particular compound have been issuing birth certificates to children to hide their age, do you have some proof of this? They have been convicted of this? Or is this something you heard a weepy Shep Smith on Fox News say that you just believe?

Ok genius. Underage pregnant girls in a compound that promotes underage marraige to middle aged men isn’t proof to you? You want more proof, then you’ll have to wait for the DNA results to come back. Do you oppose that too?

Sorry, but that's paranoia. Parenthood needs to be established if any child custody determinations are going to be made properly.

Adult to child: Who is your mother, and who is your father?

Adult to adults: Who is this child's mother and father?

Paternity established - if someone wishes to challenge this paternity, they can do so. But what's happening is wholesale violation of the right to privacy in the seeking of evidence which will be used in prosecution. This isn't about the children, it's about the case, and that's what's most disturbing me.

But hey, why have basic constitutional rights for a despised group? Self incrimination for everyone!

They have NOT been issuing birth certificates. These children do not have birth certificates.

And it has nothing to do with what is happening in this cult and others like it.

Its past time to stomp this out forever.

The fact that every jr. high school in the country has some promiscuous girls does NOT mean that every jr. high school in the country has girls being bound for life to adult men.

A jr. high school girl, messing with her high school boyfriend and thus pregnant, is being exploited by a fellow minor. It is a bad situation but not the same as breeding and grooming your own children for sexual exploitation, and then forcing them into it.

You need to compare apples with apples.

That is my point. Let’s wait for some evidence prior to exacting punishment. The DNA results should shed some light. Let us not jump to conclusions hysterically. Unlike you, I do not oppose finding the truth, I DO oppose a media driven witch hunt.

Are you confusing me with some other poster? I made a comment concerning the horrors experienced by children in state care. For this you insult me and imply that I like this cult or would like to see it perpetuated.

So all your post boil down to the fact that you have some skin head ideals and make racist statements.

No more so than schools that build daycare centers for their student’s babies. Wouldn’t you consider accommodations as condoning such activity? Who got them pregnant? Where’s the search, child seizure, DNA testing there?

The Attorney General of Texas, Greg Abbott, was interviewed and gave this information about missing birth certificates, so that has been reported by several news sources the past few days. I guess he should know the facts.

Again, have they been convicted of this? Is this true? Or is this something that the media has reported that may or may not be true? The media and police reported a 16 year old girl made some startling accusations. Now I hear that the same girl might not have been 16 but rather 33 and never lived in the compound.
