The real question is why he chose to set himself up for this un-necessary issue. He could very well have just worn the flag like everyone else, no one would ever have given it a second thought. But he chose to make an issue of it. Why? Who was he playing to, and what was the real message he was sending? I know the drive-by media will never explore these questions, but they seem to me to be of potentially great significance indeed, especially given the emerging evidence of his alien ideology.
