DENVER -- A Colorado Springs woman was arrested on charges of false reporting to authorities and is being investigated for her alleged involvement in the call that tipped authorities off to possible abuse at a Texas polygamist compound.
Police said they arrested 33-year-old Rozita Swinton at her home on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs Wednesday as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas. They left and have not filed any charges on Swinton, said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Skip Arms.
Arms said he could not discuss any aspects of the Texas case. The affidavit for the Colorado Springs case has been sealed so details cannot be released, he said.
Call7 Investigators reported this is not be the first time Swinton has been arrested on charges of making false reports to authorities. According to KRDO, the charge against Swinton was made in connection to calls received by police in February indicating she was 13 years old and trapped in a basement.

What would be her motivation for doing that? Why would a 33 year old impersonate a 13 year old, and then allege she was held against her will or being harmed?
Then it's discovered she has prior convictions for calling in false police reports?
This reeks bad.
This is a long, long shot...but IF she personally knew someone in that cult, IF she knew that person could not or would not leave on his/her own accord, then PERHAPS she made the calls to prompt some action.
I don’t know, and it sounds pretty far-fetched and paper-thin, but maybe that is one remote possibility.
Law enforcement could had determined quickly that the caller was not even in the same state. And if she was not in the same state, how would it be possible she was being held against her will, in a state where she was not even located??
So I take it 'the ends justify the means', eh? My, how very socialist of you.
I find this whole matter as distasteful as can be, but let the law trump up charges here, and it won't be long till they will come to haul your own children away on the precedence this case will provide them.
So does the idea that the government employees, known for their legendary work ethic, were ready to take on this snarled mess of a case just to "get" a group that was never in the way of the government agenda.

I heard on the news that the Feds traced the phone calls to her.
Now we see if the news got it right.
Who knows? Where is the e-v-i-d-e-n-c-e?
That's all fine and good, however what would be her motive to impersonate a 13 year old girl? In addition, it appears that this woman has priors involving false police reports.
Lots of questions here. And if she was in long distance communication with kids reporting abuse to her, why would the victims just not call the police themselves?
I thought I stated what her motive would have been: To get the authorities to take action and investigate the cult, so that (hopefully) her friend could get out or get some help.
Again, I admit it’s a looong shot. We’ll have to see if there is any involvement on her part, and if so, what motive she would have.
BTW, the caller purported to be 16 years old, not 13.
Do you have some evidence that the charges are trumped up, other than the fact that the charges were issued by a government agency?
How much older is Putin than the girl he’s going to marry?
Sounds like a typical honors class in any big city school in the projects.
However, you wrote:
all was well at the ranch, no child abuse, no brain washing, every teenage girl secretly wants to marry some fifty year old guy ...
My questions is: What about all the teenage boys? Do they have to wait until they are fifty to marry an underage girl?
I haven't heard about the teenage boys.
But, then again, I haven't really been reading many of these posts.
One more time, what would have been her motive to impersonate a 13 year old girl? This is not credible. If the information was all true and accurate, why would this adult woman just call in and report it and ID herself?
Kids call the police all the time, and they come out and investigate. Happens every day. If the victims were communicating with this 33 year old, why would the victims not be able to communicate with the police?
Well, wait a minute. Everybody wants to talk about trumped up charges, and raids on these perfectly nice people who were just minding their own business, but the testimony of Jessop, lost boys and the other FLDS shennanigans are EVIDENCE that something is going on here. Whether it's evidence that is proof, or evidence you find compelling doesn't change the fact that it's EVIDENCE that the FLDS cult abuses women and children.
Time and time again, the vast, vast majority of evidence in criminal cases is not revealed until trial. That is likely the case here. But I will say this and I will stand by it even if all these people are acquitted: Given the FLDS's recent past, believing them is at least as silly as believing a government agency at face value.
