DENVER -- A Colorado Springs woman was arrested on charges of false reporting to authorities and is being investigated for her alleged involvement in the call that tipped authorities off to possible abuse at a Texas polygamist compound.
Police said they arrested 33-year-old Rozita Swinton at her home on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers were in Colorado Springs Wednesday as part of their investigation involving the compound in Texas. They left and have not filed any charges on Swinton, said Colorado Springs police spokesman Lt. Skip Arms.
Arms said he could not discuss any aspects of the Texas case. The affidavit for the Colorado Springs case has been sealed so details cannot be released, he said.
Call7 Investigators reported this is not be the first time Swinton has been arrested on charges of making false reports to authorities. According to KRDO, the charge against Swinton was made in connection to calls received by police in February indicating she was 13 years old and trapped in a basement.

I'm really beginning to question the motivation of certain freepers.
Not only that, this will put the credibility of anything else that was said or alleged by authorities subsequent to the call into question.
So does that imply that the first call from “Sarah” was real and the others were by Swinton assuming her identity?
I always did wonder how a girl so isolated would know about a shelter.
Well, I don't often find myself on the same side of an issue as Hildy, but take a look at post 32. Is Carolyn Jessop a liar?
This group is a sick cult, and though I believe in a fair trial as much as any Freeper, there's such a thing as keeping one's mind so open one's brain falls out.
Not to argue with you, but I saw some footage inside their facility on the news today. It looked like a well funded private boarding school with comfortable bedrooms, computer workstations, communal dining and recreation areas. It was all clean and well lighted. If the allegations do prove to be false, there’s going to be a lot of ‘splainin to do by the authorities.
OT, but, I do think we have been invaded by a ton of hillary operatives as of late.
I don't give a flying **** about these people. It does increasingly look like there was NO probable cause to take the children away. The raid was unconstitutional. 416 children X $10,000,000 = $4.16 Billion.
OK, explain the ship to me.
No, I simply said I don't know yet... perhaps that's because I really haven't heard much other than what I see on the news. It's just a subject I'm not very familiar with yet, but I'm trying to catch up on the facts.
I’ll just let it sink in. :^)
‘Texas authorities needed a criminal complaint before they could get a warrant to storm the compound. They got it when they claimed a 16-year-old girl named Sarah called them for help, saying she was inside the ranch, pregnant and scared of her abusive 50-year-old husband.
One former member, who has been an outspoken critic of polygamist practices, says she thinks she may have talked to Swinton on the phone, with Swinton claiming to be Sarah’s twin sister.
Flora Jessop says the woman she believes is Rozita Swinton called again Thursday morning after Swinton bailed out of the El Paso County Jail.
“I did get her to admit to me her name was Rose,” Jessop said.’

Weird.
I wonder how Swinton even knew about the Yearning for Zion ranch?
Whether all was well at the ranch may be in doubt, but the irreparable harm done to those children is not. And I mean by the authorities in taking them away at gunpoint.
Given their history, at this point I'd say believing the FLDS is being persecuted by the government requires conspiracy theory. One also wonders why anyone thinks government flunkies want to go through all the hassle of handling this hopelessly complicated mess just so they can "get" a group that never was any threat to the government agenda.
Bet ya a cup of coffee there is no "Sara".
Their defense lawyers will try to make hay with it, and that's their job, but in reality the case will sit on whether there was actual abuse, and my bet's on abuse.
We’ve got to stop being driven by emotions about situations.
I’ve learned this from watching the MSM, studying the MSM and for a few years, being an acutal member of the media covering news stories.
Lets keep cool and not jump to conclusions because it looks like the state has a long way to go before they can start proving “child abuse” took place there.
And that’s the bottom line, not what someone says on television but what is real evidence that can be used in a real trial in a real courtroom
And the real courtroom isn’t “Oprah” or “Maury” or Geraldo Rivera, etc. etc.
