SAN ANGELO, Tex. It took only a few minutes from the judges opening gavel Thursday morning for an emergency court hearing on the fate of 416 children taken by the state from a polygamist compound two weeks ago to dissolve into chaos. About 100 lawyers, for the children, their families and the state, were gathered in the main courtroom at Tom Green County Courthouse; another 100 or so were dispatched to the San Angelo city auditorium three blocks away, and connected to the main courtroom through a video conferencing system. Court exhibits had to be copied and carried between the locations by clerks. It took an hour just to enter the first exhibit into the record. Some lawyers complained heatedly to Judge Barbara Walther that the mass hearing, radically different from a typically intimate Family Court custody session, was unfair and benefited the state. Just as vehemently, Judge Walther denied their objections and said that all parties would be heard, no matter how long that took. We have to balance the requirement in the statutes that this hearing must be held within 14 days, Judge Walther said. Its not a perfect solution. I wish I could give you a perfect solution. There is not one. She assured the lawyers for the children and their families, You have not waived all of your rights.

The culture of creating Lost Boys has got to stop. A strong logical & emotional case can be made against it.

If possible, I agree that kids need to be with their parents. Not “the family” though.
What family unit?
Some of these kids say they don’t know which women are their mothers, and what father.
There is no family unit to be returned to.
From what I gather the line would stretch around the courthouse block.
I think Texas and Tom Green county are about to get a civics lesson . I want the children protected and wrong doers punished , but I want due process of law . It is especially important for us all to defend the rights of every citizen . An injustice to one is an injustice to us all .
Oh I wasn’t saying it was illegal or immoral in this case. Its just that this is how government powers start to grow and eventually overstep their original authority.
A negotiation would be required beforehand to give these ... bastards ... a choice to play ball to keep their families together. If they choose to put their own pride ahead of a chance to keep their families, which they profess to be their #1 concern, then perhaps they do not deserve to keep them.
It’s true they drew a thick veil but the states involved refused to penetrate it, thereby condoning it.
Lol, good grief!
COLORADO SPRINGS A woman arrested in Colorado Springs may be the same person who prompted a raid at a religious compound in western Texas.
According to a release from the city of Colorado Springs, police arrested 33-year-old Rozita Swinton at her home on Wednesday on a charge of false reporting to authorities, a misdemeanor. The incident she was arrested for happened in February. Swinton was taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
I plead guilty of posting under duress :)
in that case i concur.
Why? statutory rape aside, what part of that alternative family structure is illegal?

of the 416 children, only 18 are male.
Where are the boys? are they murdered, given up for adoption, or abandoned?
Are they given up for adoption to homosexual Muslims?
