Yale Art Student Claims She Used Blood Samples, Video of Self-Induced Abortions for Senior Project Thursday, April 17, 2008

By Catherine Donaldson-Evans

A Yale student who claims she artificially inseminated herself "as often as possible" and then took drugs to induce miscarriages for her senior art project says she will showcase the stomach-turning display next week — complete with her own blood samples and videos from the terminated possible pregnancies.

The story of art major Aliza Shvarts' upcoming exhibit, which the Yale Daily News broke Thursday, has sparked widespread disgust and outrage.

"It’s clearly depraved. I think the poor woman has got some major mental problems," said National Right to Life Committee President Wanda Franz. "She’s a serial killer. This is just a horrible thought."

Critics on campus have said the display sounds like a shock-and-awe look at the highly sensitive issue of abortion and called it a sick stunt to get attention. The abortion-rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America also condemned the exhibit.

"This 'project' is offensive and insensitive to the women who have suffered the heartbreak of miscarriage," said NARAL's communication director Ted Miller in a statement.

But Shvarts said the goal of the project is to encourage debate and discussion about the connection between art and the human body.

"I hope it inspires some sort of discourse," Shvarts, whose age was withheld, told Yale's newspaper. "Sure, some people will be upset with the message and will not agree with it, but it's not the intention of the piece to scandalize anyone."

"The exhibit will be on public display from April 22 to May 1 at Yale's Holcombe T. Green Jr. Hall. Shvarts will be honored at a reception April 25."

"Franz likened Shvarts' process of artificial insemination and induced miscarriages to the human experimentation that took place during the Holocaust. She said the Yale senior's work highlights a stark truth about American society's approach to abortion."

NARAL and PP are probably just upset because she used natural herbal compounds to induce abortion, which deprived abortionists of their entitled income.

No wonder there's no intelligent liberals anymore...they were aborted, gayed, and population-controlled out the past 35 years.

See how everyone says Obama is "too young"? Martin Luther King led the Birmingham Bus boycott when he was 26. He won a Nobel Peace Prize when he was 35. By the time he was assassinated at age 39, he was already considered over-the-hill by other civil rights leaders.

Why does the black community see Obama as its brightest light? Because the heart of Black America resides in the back dumpsters behind abortion clinics. Of the estimated 50,000,000 Americans aborted since 1973, fully 13,000,000 of them were black. The white community could take a hit like that, but the black community can't. So the black community has to look at aging buffoons like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, or half-white mounds of mediocrity like Barry Obama.

If the KKK had run 10 legions of horsemen through Harlem, East St. Louis, Atlanta, etc., they couldn't have done a better job of destroying the black community that pro-abortionists have.

Here’s praying that Ms. Shvarts is infertile and that all the abortions she attributes to her herbs were just her menses.

99% of those who favor legal abortion will still be disgusted by this. Why can’t Yale have the courage of its disgust and say, some “art” is not art, but amoral posturing, and not worthy of a place at the university?

I can't begin to tell you how UNIMPRESSED I am with these LIBERAL, Ivy League schools.

I could easily see Michele Obomination or her spouse thinking this is wonderful - especially if the girl is white. Then again, the color might not matter - since Barrack wouldn't want to “punish his daughter with a BABY”.

I now fully support the movement to totally eliminate from all universities any studies not involving science or technology. Those “academic departments” have proven themselves incapable of serious study. This “woman” is a senior? What’s she going to do after graduation? Oh, forgot... she could be come a democrat.

Even aside from the obvious, repulsive nature of the stunt, she claims this is ART? Whatever happened to paintings and sculptures?

PS Yale Art Dept- You might want to come up with some sort of guidelines...no blood spatter, no hacked-off body parts...

"This 'project' is offensive and insensitive to the women who have suffered the heartbreak of miscarriage," said NARAL's communication director Ted Miller in a statement.

Has NARAL ever said that women getting breast implants just for looks are "insensitive" to those who have reconstructive surgery because of breast cancer?

Hey, it's a woman's body, who is NARAL to condemn what this woman wanted to do with her own body for "art"? She was just taking pictures of her own body parts, after all, according to NARAL's reasoning.

Hey, that gives me an idea. Aren't ALL abortions "offensive and insensitive" to women who were trying to have children but experience miscarraiges? Maybe we should let this little NARAL quote get out in the public -- NARAL says that induced abortions are offensive to women who had miscarraiges."

Didn't NARAL fight for the woman's right to have access to those drugs?

Don’t be surprised if she’s set herself up for cancer later in life.

Quite simply put, this didn’t happen. I know the media said it and blah blah. This is hot, steaming, freshly sliced poo, pure and simple. I don’t believe it for a second. It’s one of those stories that are supposed to make you vent and harrumph and pound on your chest that “there are no morals any more”. Don’t buy it, folks.

No I don’t have any proof. Does she? Any DNA from her and her prospective fetus? Any ultrasounds? She had a bad period and decided to turn it into an art project. Talk about making lemons out of lemonade. I wish my wife was so enterprising.

Okay, enough dopey humor. The point - this story is as genuine as Hillary Clinton’s genitals: it’s all show.

How about a discussion about the connection between liberal students and narcissism?

This Svarts gal reminds me ever so much of Cho Seung-Hui. His English prof made a mistake similar to that of the faculty advisor at Yale. Instead of seeking professional psyciatric care for her very disturbed student, she coddled him with one-on-one instruction.

That was just a year and a half before he went on a deadly shooting spree at Virginia Tech that resulted in 32 dead and 25 others seriously wounded.

She sought to deal with his anger.

Looks like America's #1 university has faculty members no more capable of dealing with "real life" than any other school.

What is most frightening is that Yale is giving her access to an art gallery to hang her ghastly creations from the ceiling.
