I’m surprised the Feds didn’t burn down the “compound” like the last time.
Isn’t their temple built out of stone? If so, fire would not work that well. Besides, Fieldmarshall Reno is still in retirement.
I don’t understand why each child is not put into temporary custody, into a foster home. It is time for the communities of Texas to step up and bring these children into their homes whether for a season or for a permanent home.
Are the mothers of these children suspected and/or charged with any crimes?
If not, then the children get returned to their mothers. End of story.
And for those who don’t like it: You either believe we have Rights which are protected by our Constitution or you do not...
If you take any segment of the population lets say Washington DC for example, there will be instances of child abuse of all types.
Given this fact the police should close off DC and take everyone’s children from them because some of them “may” be being abused in some manner.
This IMHO smells really bad.
Strange, in China the government isn’t stealing children from the Tibetans.
Also, what is the rate for physical and sexual abuse in foster homes nowadays anyway????
Do they need evidence or are accusations enough to take these kids away from their mothers?
“Typically, each child would be given a separate hearing, but given the number of cases, it’s likely the judge will have the state, the children’s attorneys and the parents’ attorneys make consolidated presentations, at least initially, said Harper Estes, president-elect of the state bar.
“You can’t go one-by-one,” Estes said.”
Why CAN’T you go “one by one”? These people have Constitutional Rights!!!!
Governemtn “officials” are the a-holes who incarcerated all these people; NOW they need to work it out without violating people’s basic civil/Constitutional Rights... No matter HOW much “extra” work it takes on their part.
You forget that this is Texas, where the Governor wished to administer the HPV vaccine by fiat. Children are property of the state, and don't you forget it. It's for their own good, really.
Would all the pregnant 13/14 yr olds be enough? Or the bed in the temple? Or the fact they identified multiple parents? Or they couldn’t tell who their parents were? Or the years of observations and reports from ex-members.....
Trafficking in children for sex is generally against the law in every jurisdiction in this country.
“Are the mothers of these children suspected and/or charged with any crimes?”
At the very least they are suspect of being co-conspirators in child rape. That answer your question?
I wonder if they’ll apply equal force against polygamist muslims. Their religion says they can have up to 4 wives, although, here in America, they marry one officially and the other three go on welfare. I’ve seen several homes flooded with muslims of which you couldn’t tell who the actual parent was. Fairfax County, VA had to pass a law limiting the number of adults in a single home to combat the muslim polygamy....
What feds?
The children's religious rights are intact. They are allowed to belong to any religion they want to.
If their own parents will not even acknowledge their true relationship to their own children, they deserve to have their parental rights terminated.
all who respect the Constitution
Which Constitutional rights have been trampled? Please be explicit and detailed. This kind of generic, sweeping reference to the Constitution has become quite tiresome on these threads.
It's generally inappropriate to hand young children over to people who have no legal custody of those children.
The fathers are no where to be found. Maybe you can help everybody out and let the DHS folks in Texas know where they are. Just check your rolladex.
Let me see.... if a man was goes around and gets 2 or 3 women pregnant and does not marry them or support them financially but instead lets the welfare state take care of them we call that Lyndon Johnsons “great society”
But if a man actually gets married, to multiple women and supports them, well take away those children from their mother immediately.
Ahh, the dirty little secret. No one has been arrested or charged with anything (except for the misdemeanor charges at the time of the invasion).
Now that the victims have had a week to tell their story to the officials how come there haven't been any arrests?
That’s just Estes. Ya’ gotta’ expect the President of the Bar anywhere to be at the ready to justify any exception to the rules. His job is to protect the lawyers, not see that justice is done. That’s somebody else’s job.
