I have seen the same, but, attitudes among the young are changing.

Did you see the thread with this 14-part video series of North Korea? Very interesting. But 13 & 14 don't come up to play. Is it somewhere else as well? I'm hooked.

Ah, ruinous generation 386(late-30's and mid 40's), to whom siding with N. Korea is an act of conscience. I believe they should be banned from taking top public offices. They try hard to influence generations under them. They do not seem all that successful, though.
However, these boys and gals are occupying mid-level in most organizations, and they are social pollution, taking pleasure in dismantling any social institutions and values.

Thank you. Our western culture was also heavily infiltrated with counter-culture propaganda since the late 1950s.
If the compulsory military service of the wealthy younger ROK men started them as enlisted personnel (not officers) in combat units (not support units), might they possibly have a better perspective of the situation? And maybe follow that service with information to them about the real situation in the DPRK and opportunities to become officers only after some enlisted service?
We in the USA also need compulsory military service for all men, IMO.
