Some are calling it a big waste of Detroit tax dollars. FOX 2 cameras were rolling as city employees went door-to-door escorted by a fire engine and a police car. As Brad Edwards explains, they weren't fighting crime or a fire. Instead, they were working for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

If it is possible for you to do, watch the video clip on westlander's link. City policemen, firemen, and a whole host of other city employees went door to door dropping off "gift bags" full of pro-Kilpatrick propoganda. Propoganda dressed up to look like useful information, but nothing more than propoganda.

I find it disturbing that any Detroit policemen would take part in these shenanigans, paid or unpaid, given what happened to two of their own at the start of this mess.
