Staten Island, NY (LifeNews.com) -- A leading pro-life Catholic group is challenging pro-abortion politicians with new YouTube videos illustrating the two most common types of abortion methods. The videos are part of a campaign Priests for Life has started, called Is This What You Mean?
Father Frank Pavone, the head of the pro-life group, talked with LifeNews.com about the new initiative.
Our campaign is based on a simple challenge: We quote the words of the doctors who perform abortions, and then we ask supporters of legal abortion, Is this what you mean when you say the word abortion?,'" Father Pavone explained.
People worldwide can use this approach with those who hold or seek public office and say they support the legality of abortion," he added.
Pavone said no particular political party, politicians or candidates are targeted in the new campaign and that it's useful to challenge elected officials of any party or any country.
Though, in the United States, pro-abortion Democratic candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are competing to take on eventual Republican nominee John McCain, who opposes abortion, This is definitely a bipartisan effort, he said.
Father Pavone said the initiative is important to show people how abortion destroys the lives of babies before birth and injures women.
The word abortion has lost its meaning, Pavone explained, and therefore many politicians get away with making themselves sound appealing to voters when they say they support the legality of abortion."
"But when people hear abortion doctors themselves describe how they tear the arms and legs off of babies and crush their heads, then a womans right to choose takes on a different feel," he said.
In the You Tube videos, Fr. Pavone shows how suction and dismemberment abortions are performed. He uses fetal models and abortion instruments.
At the conclusion of the video, Father Pavone removes his collar to show he's presenting the information as a average person without any religious bias.
Pavone said his group would provide information, including quotes, illustrations and other facts from medical textbooks validating his descriptions of abortions in the video.

I’ve watched those videos. They stop you in your tracks and you forget to breath. It should be mandatory viewing on the floor of the House and Senate before every vote on an abortion-related bill.

Thi sis an excellent way to show people what an abortion is without showing the photographs. What a great idea. god bless Father Pavone.

I was absolutely shocked when I watched a rerun of CSI NY the other night. It was latenight weekend, when nothing is on. The episode had the lead actor looking at a very young fetus, though a microscope, they were trying to determine who the father was by testing the DNA, so he could be questioned in the mothers murder. What shocked me was he said “That's not just a clump of skin cells, is it?” and later, had a picture made up to show what she would have looked like at 2 yrs of age. He was also very troubled about this baby's loss of life. Highly unusual for a network program!

May God continue to bless Father Pavone (a local priest in my area.)
He stays consistently on the forefront challenging the insanity of referring to this extermination of almost 50 American babies since 1973, as CHOICE!
There may be "choice" for the pregnant woman but there is NO CHOICE for the innocent baby who is about to be murdered in the most savage way known.
This in a country that tauts itself as a "Christian Nation!"
God has granted America a period of grace that is surely soon to end.

[W]hen people hear abortion doctors themselves describe how they tear the arms and legs off of babies and crush their heads, then a womans right to choose takes on a different feel.
Right on.
Too bad there are many erstwhile anti-abortion types that are too weak in the knees to approve of this approach. Reason and debate they'd say - that's the way to win this culture war.
Uh huh.
Bring the bleeding chunks to the front door of the killers and let the world see what it is they champion.

Father Pavone is a very great man indeed. I try to donate often to Priest for life, because of his brave and bold work. He was also strongly present during the whole Terri Schivo saga, in fact he was with till the end. God is using this great Priest to change the mind an hearts of people, especially the younger generation with the use of the u-tube video footage. May God Bless him!!! And may many little babies be saved through his courageous efforts!
