If you have ever wondered whether or not the voice of the common man and community outrage can have an effect on major corporations, this should answer your question. If it had not been for community outrage and the actions of tens of thousands of people who opposed The Golden Compass, that film might have been a financial success. Instead it tanked, and dragged the studio down with it.

This cautionary example will reverberate in Hollywood for a long, long time.

No it won't! They don't learn.
Look at last year's Oscar winner. Everyone that I know that saw it said it was a waste of time and had no ending.

But it was dark as the day is long. Hollywood is full of emos who think that most of America stepped out of Talladega Nights. They never learn.
