< What will these fighters do when the Coalition tells them it is time to put their guns down and go home? >

They will keep their guns, because as a free people they will always have to be vigilant against tyranny. An armed people are a free people. It is up to Iraq’s leaders to provide the leadership and wisdom to lead Iraqis to sustained nationhood. I would expect such a nation to be built upon its tribal traditions.

It is up to the government of Iraq to provide the legal framework, recognizing real property ownership for example, that will allow an economic environment capable of sustaining gainful employment of its people. Having petroleum is a good first step, at least they can get a running start with that resource.

There is much in Iraq to make us hopeful that they will make it in the future. Now if only the liberals here don’t interfere.

“Now if only the liberals here don’t interfere.”

Good point as Liberals don’t want anybody to succeed other than themselves. They say they do, but they also lie a lot.

Iraq isn’t destined for Socialism under the current plan, therefore Liberals will continue their interference.

It’s good for a country to have a well trained population to call on in times of need.
