So it’s not especially important that India and China play ball? Guess it’s not the end of the world after all.
Either climate change is real and everyone needs to address this imminent threat to the planet. Or it's not, and it's a stick we can use to beat America with. Which of these possibilities is implied by this story?
Every single member of Congress needs to have this story brought to their attention, over and over, before the next big vote on cap and trade/climate change legislation. If India and China don't have to change, then neither do we.
The industrialized nations are a minority of the U.N. obviously one of the purposes of the global warming scam is to weaken the older industrialized nations and benefit the third world. China is allowed to pollute the world, but the rest of us are supposed to wreck our economies for a nonexistent threat.

The global warming scam is not scientific fact, it's not good economics, and what we do will not make a difference other than some politician will fleece his pockets (Gore for example) or make a name for himself. Those going down this road will someday stand along sides of Woodrow Wilson or Jimmy Carter. This is silly and I would steer clear of it not out of spite, but out of respect for the American people and common sense. Activism is not a Presidential trait, and jumping on bandwagons is no sign of leadership either. Already today we subsidies through tax incentives BS green plans in energy from wind to electric bulbs. The average American is dealing with higher food prices largely because of our governments plan to push ethanol which has caused the cost of corn, also used as livestock feed to skyrocket. Fantastic, now Bush on his way out and not worried about the secondary and tertiary effects will pass a quick “save the planet” bill which someone else has to deal with later down the road when the effects of this nonsense becomes apparent. That's political maneuvering at its finest.
Bush won't make any new friends with this, he'll only alienate those who are economically conservative. I truly believe Bush has some deep down desire to make a name for him self. He's trying to carve out his place in history.
Proof positive that the U.N. is simply a collection of radical communists, who wish to destroy Western Civilisation, so that the final enslavement of the Rest of the World can finally happen.

Not just obscure sources or authors either.
You have an admission from a UN administrator that their has been no warming since 1998. That means that all the so called signs ex:(Arctic ice melting)are false indicators.
Yet, the political elites in Europe and the US have made up their minds and are going forward with all of their green house gas mitigation plans. Even the oil companies are running these pathetic “green” commercials. Companies are buying in to the Ethanol scam.
I don't see anyone on the political horizon right now with the courage to stand up to the hysteria.

Yep. Post-Cold War environmentalism is the refuge most socialists fled to after the fall of the Berlin Wall. It's all about seizing control over industry and individuals, and they think they've found the perfect wedge in global warming. Hey, what could be better than the very existence of industry, detached dwellings and cars are a threat to the planet!!??
For once .. McCain’s right. India and China are the worst polluters - and the USA is expected to pick up the tab for fixing it. These people can go pound sand!
