If you think his remarks make him a bigot I think you would be more comfortable over on DailyKos.

If most of the people on this forum think like you, I'll certainly be leaving, though not for DailyKos - I'm sure there are reasonable conservative forums where bigotry is recognized when seen. Davis is a bigot - no one goes around calling an adult black man "boy" unless he's got a problem with adult black men in general.

Davis' remarks also make him a fool who is actively helping Obama avoid attention for his own remarks.

Actually, I’ve referred to a lot of adult males as boys, as in “He’s a big boy”, or, “That boy is going to be in a world of hurt!” - and those where whites, not blacks.

I’ll agree a lot of blacks will take offense, and I’ll agree it isn’t a smart remark to make - but it could reflect a total LACK of prejudice.

I don’t know enough about Rep Davis to know, but it could be either. There is no indication in context that he was saying something like, “Boy, bring me a mint!”
