This weekend, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright made his first comments since his public sermons made national headlines.
He came out swinging, once again attacking the United States for racism. He also singled out Fox News for criticism.
Speaking Saturday at a eulogy for former appellate Judge R. Eugene Pincham, a member of Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, Wright blamed the Founding Fathers for the woes of blacks today, claiming they planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic.
Wright cited Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who recently said the country has a congenital birth defect owing to its constitutional acceptance of slavery.
Wright also described Thomas Jefferson as having engaged in pedophilia.
But his most heated comments were targeted at Fox News, which he called "Fix News."
Fox News cant understand that, Wright exclaimed. [Bill] OReilly will never get that. Sean Hannitys stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pinchams] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed.
Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, a member of Wright's church, has distanced himself from some of Wright's comments but refuses to condemn his former pastor or resign from the church.
My favourite Buckleyism is in the following:
''Nothing is ever so bad that it cannot also be said to be somewhat maieutic.''
Now THAT is a great word. Also, it's the only word (I think) in English that has 4 different consecutive vowels.
Philophiles of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your banality!
;^)
I am laughing so hard at your reply that it is almost impossible to type!!
I just now got it after reading it twice.
You have a higher opinion of the cheering mob in his church than I do. They seem to love his racist and anti-American rants.
And he’s not going to a retirement home, he’s heading to a 10-million dollar mansion in a gated community, paid for by his church. I hope all his new neighbors are white liberals. They deserve him.
Gunny:
There are Marines at Fox News such as Greg Kelly http://thehill.com/old-capital-living/fox-news-reporter-combines-brains-and-brawn-2006-12-07.html
and they are usually much more pro-military than the rest of the news media: http://greenroom.blogs.foxnews.com/2007/11/09/fox-friends-salutes-marine-corps-232nd-birthday/
37 yrs old?
Hell! America was gone before he got here; to say nothing of anything called Marine Corps which sprang from that America.
I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em.
Condi Rice is a neo-con and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). She promotes globalism, not Americanism.
I’d laugh, but it’s true.
Unless JW and Obama denounce the koran and Islam I consider them both muslims. They can say they aren’t muslim but that doesn’t mean squat.

Take your pick!!
You are right about slavery not being the major cause—But in my family it was. They were radical abolitionists, real nut cases on the subject. For them it was the issue—but I will conceed only a few followed this line of resoning.
We, my family and I, are proud of our country for it's goodness and when viewing the glass...we prefer to believe there is at least half of something there of value.
Obama could never have gotten this far if small town Americans were all bigots like his reverend says they are...,it is not only unfair to call America racist, at this time, it is also illogical.
Someone out there is getting it right and it ain't reverend Wright...and it ain't the Dem party.
