Same here, but these are different times...
I don’t completely agree that the times are all that different. What I see happening is that too many parents are turning over their responsibilities to be parents upon the public schools, and the public schools (who were never intended to take the place of the parents) has done a poor job in filling that role. Of course, I’m speaking in generalities (as is way too many others here). There are many very excellent public school programs all across this country that are being unfairly lumped in with those that are failing. Botton line is that it is not simply a problem of just poor schools or poor educators. That is just way too simplistic to explain the problems in education.
