The former senator Bob Kerrey, a notoriously outspoken politician and failed presidential candidate in 1992, stirred the pot when he endorsed Mrs Clinton and then proceeded to compliment Mr Obama for his understanding of Islam.
“I like the fact that his name is Barack Hussein Obama, and that his father was a Muslim and that his paternal grandmother is a Muslim,” Mr Kerrey said.
“There's a billion people on the planet that are Muslims, and I think that experience is a big deal.”

Hard to tell with Kerrey. When he said that “Bill Clinton is an exceptionally good liar,” was that meant as criticism or as a kind of compliment? Certainly the news media admired clinton’s ability to parse and spin.
We have the same conundrum here. Implying that Obama has a lot of Muslim connections would be a turn-off for many people, but the moonbats will take this at face value. How NICE to have someone in the White House who understands Muslims, they will think.
