Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance
You Tube ^ | June 10, 2007 | Red Skelton

Posted on 04/13/2008 4:26:20 AM PDT by freerepublic_or_die

Red Skelton's "Pledge of Allegiance" was first introduced on the Red Skelton Show on January 14, 1969.
It has since been twice read into the congressional record of The United States and has received numerous awards.

One of the most eloquent, moving tributes to America, Old Glory, and Pledge of Allegiance to the greatest country ever.

Imagine that: “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Hope none of the “multicultural” crowd is offeded.

Does Reverend Wright have an opinion?

Does it sound a little “bitter” to Senator Obama?

It is good to see that performance again, I get goose bumps just listening to it.

I watched the Red Skelton show on TV when I was a younger man.

Bitter enough not to wear an American flag on his lapel or place his hand over his chest during the Star Spangled Banner.
It's not like he's the descendant of Blacks enslaved in the South. So what's his beef?

There was a time, long ago, when a gentleman with patriotism and a sense of history, could thrive in prime-time.

39 years of unending leftist assault on our culture has sure taken a toll.

What a terrible turn this country has made from the period when real Americans like Red Skelton was entertaining us.

God how great he was.

There is no comparison between Mr. Skelton and the trash we call entertainers today.

I watched the Red Skelton show on TV when I was a younger man.

I did too. Guess that makes us a couple of old farts? lol.

God Bless America

Do they say the pledge in schools anymore?

We have two sons, ages 8 and 11. They attend different schools here in Maryland, about an hour and a half from DC, as one of the schools has a better program for our oldest son who is high functioning autistic. Both schools have a recitation of the Pledge each morning.

A few weeks ago we attended a concert at our 8 yr old son's school (third grade class playing the recorder flute) and it started with a request to stand and recite the Pledge. Nothing was cuter to me than seeing my 11 yr old standing next to me with his hand over his heart reciting the Pledge.

Yep and this is a vivid reminder of how far we've slid into the liberal abyss in only 39 years......
