People who believe being in an active homosexual relationship is congruous with Christianity are in for a rude awakening on Judgment Day.

They’ll be as respectful as the rowdy protesters were with the runners of the Olympic torch.

Ignored and vilified? Please! If you sin, you sin, and to expect the Pope, of all people, to celebrate that sin is the epitome of narcissism! And a person who engages in homosexual sex has to claim to the word dignity. There is abolutely nothing dignified about it.

“We, along with many Catholics, disagree with the church’s official position about teachings on sexual issues,”

They really need to get saved!

"There are lot of faithful Catholics who dissent from the church's teachings on sexuality. For example, Catholics and birth control. Most lay Catholics don't follow the church's teaching on birth control issues or family planning. There are major disconnects between what Catholics do and what the church demands of them."

Wow!!! PICK AND CHOOSE RELIGION. How convenient to have a "faith" that has no "absolutes". If I like it, I'll embrace it. If I don't like a teaching, or doctrine, I'll reject it.

> Gay Catholics and especially gay Catholics associated with DignityUSA will launch formal protests in Washington and New York against Benedict and his “anti-gay stances.”

Seeing how they’re all going to be conveniently in one place, can’t the Pope, you know, sorta mass-Excommunicate them, all at once? It would be convenient and efficient, and save everyone alot of bother and heartache later.

Not all Catholics are welcoming Pope Benedict XVI with open arms.

Then might I, though not claiming to be a member of the Roman Catholic Church, humbly suggest that they are not "Catholics" but something else entirely?

There are lot of faithful Catholics who dissent from the church's teachings ...

Basic logic should raise a red flag here.

I wonder if they’ll be discussing the fact that virtually all of the sexual abuse of children by priests the Church has been suffering through was HOMOSEXUAL abuse?

Then find a new Church, buttboys.

There are PLENTY of Christian denominations open to homosexuals... why do they have to insist the one that is not, accommodates that lifestyle?

I don’t care how these people see themselves. They can be baptised a thousand times, crawl on their knees from Washington to Rome, say as many Hail Mary’s and Our Fathers as often as they breathe but they are not Catholics as long as they choose to oppose the teachings of the church and rally others to do so.

LOL!
I am so sick of these people.
My daughter, after Church last Sunday made a good (sarcastic) point, and made me laugh.
She said to say only homosexual behavior should be accepted as normal is bigotry!
What about the others in that verse?
The fornicator, the adulterer, the sexually perverse?
If a Christian can be gay, or trans gendered (sexually perverse) then why not an adulterer?
Why not a man (or woman) who lives in sin?
If it is acceptable to now have sex with the same sex, then whats wrong with coveting someone else's spouse?
Or persons who just want to shack up?
Sexually perverse covers a wide range, take your pick.
Let it all hang out.
If one is acceptable, they must all be. By logic.
It was much funnier, coming from her, in her animated way!
They can protest all they want.
They may change the world so that every church has to accept them.
It still does not change the word of God.
In the end, that is who they will have to answer to.
