Why is that a stretch?

Fraud is fraud.

Beyond the obvious sarcasm of my initial remark, to conflate a hypothetical someone’s moral equivalence (expressed in the allusion to Robin Hood) to my ceding my “right to object” is a stretch of herculean proportion.

I wanted to give trumandogz the benefit of the doubt. I couldn’t believe that he/she was serious. I guess I’m mistaken (he says backing slowly away)...

I heard this would go on in Chicago all the time.

"Oh, look, Sister Mary Magdalene is the winner of our raffle for a new car, and just when the convent's old clunker has passed on! Saints be praised!"

It was a scam, but he apparently did it with what he felt were good intentions, not to benefit personally.
