I think they are trying to frame the issue as that he referred to people in small towns being "bitter" because of loss of jobs...which of course can then be used to attack Bush on the economy.

Fox News interviewed the owner of a diner in Allentown, PA, who characterized Obama, on the basis of yesterday's news about his remarks, as "elitist." Of course the opinions of the proprietor of a diner may not be typical of those of his customers.
