I think the first thing that needs to happen is to have an honest approach to the argument. Lets start with this, these people were hungry before ethanol started and will be even if we ended it today. If anyone dislikes the ethanol business, argue against it because of efficiencies or something more effective. This burning food argument doesn’t fly with most people. Especially when you see the same people driving around in suvs going nowhere burning $3.50/gal gas talking on a $100/month cell phone. Speculators and oil has driven the price of food up more than ethanol. Any of you have stocks in ag, oil, shipping or supporting businesses, if you do and mean what you say, you need to sell and walk the talk. There are a lot of things that can be done but lets at least be upfront and honest about it.

I see. Perhaps this emerging biofuel business is seen as a threat to the oil market? Interesting that the MSM is taking an anti-biofuel stance; they must have substantial oil company investment. So, this brouhaha distracts from the real problem with food prices: the price of oil.

Just thinking this through. Tell me what you think.
