B-b-b-b-ut I thought that being a Democrat meant you were for the little people and the blue collar workers.

When I read about this on LGF I knew that there would be a post here about this. It seems like when a Democrat says something truly elitist and condescending, which they do often, while masking themselves in populistic cliches it is always a big hit at places like here and I love it. The fact that Hillary and Bill, while saying ridiculous things, have not stooped this low(especially because of Bill’s roots) and Obama is still the Party’s choice is depressing.

It wasn’t long ago when the Democratic Party was Anti-Gun Control Pro-Life and also was focused on Immigration issues, basically small town Pennsylvania, until they slipped on a bog. Nowadays Obama paints the admirable nostalgic small towns of Pennsylvania(ones that people like my mom grew up in) as the charicatures you see in the movies made by Hollywood. He probably also thinks that they are made up of very scary, rigid people who will kill you if you are not very Christian. No wonder blue collar workers would rather vote for Hillary over Obama, to them Obama is another rich white man who doesn’t give a darn about them.

Their candidate, John Edwards, left and now you’ve got either Hillary “I picked Janet Reno for Bill” or Obama “I have no record of ever doing anything worthy but I am black so vote for me”. I also find it interesting that he, and Hillary have made outrageous statements with the hoi pilloi crowd in San Francisco. Personally I really don’t like both but at least Hillary knows a little on how a Presidential candidate acts, Obama doesn’t.

This may have been mentioned already, but...

Obama really said this. Hannity and Colmes just had audio. It was of poor quality, but not so poor there’s any doubt what he was saying.

What an arrogant little punk.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

And how does this explain those of us with healthy incomes that also 'cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment' because we have a vision of right and wrong. And that liberalism is wrong.

Obama thinks the small town suckers don’t know what’s good for them, while he drinks Reverend Wright’s Kool Aid.

Nothing like having an angry, racist, black man with a chip on his shoulder, as our President.

My wife’s family is from southwest rural PA, about 10 miles from where Flight 93 crashed. I travel there about twice a year.

Along the rural highways you can see a church about every 2 miles. BHO says they are “clinging” to their religion and their guns? Hoo boy, is that is going to annoy those folks.

BHO’s followup explanation (Well, they *are* bitter, see, because economy there is bad, Bush taxcuts for the rich, yadda yadda) implies they ‘cling’ to God only because of the poor economy. That just rubs in the insult to their faith.

Ouch this is bad.

John McCain will walk into the endzone vs. this clown.

Pretty sad that there couldn’t be a true Conservative running.

You are nuts. RCP has him leading McCain now...
you want this guy in the White House?

It’s disgusting that this man is not considered a fringe candidate.

And the spin begins. Obama`s “cleaned up” version of what he said earlier.

“People don’t vote on economic issues because they don’t expect anybody is going to help them,” Obama told a crowd at a Terre Haute, Ind., high school Friday evening. “So people end up voting on issues like guns and are they going to have the right to bear arms. They vote on issues like gay marriage. They take refuge in their faith and their community, and their family, and the things they can count on. But they don’t believe they can count on Washington.”

CNN is trying to mitigate the damage by claiming the controversial “word” was when Obama said “bitter”. It was actually the way he claimed that small towns “cling” on to guns and religion.

So Obama is a know-it-all. He “knows” what’s wrong with the country, even though his view of the country is erroneous.

A proposed Cannon Fodder 15 second television spot:

FADE FROM BLACK

ANNOUNCER: Senator Obama has said many things...

SUPER "...typical white people..."

DISSOLVE TO "...they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment..."

ANNOUNCER: Now, who says Senator Obama does not frankly speak his mind?

FADE TO BLACK

Heard all about this on the radio last night. It’s nothing to a DemonRat, the only people who matter live in east and west coast cities. Flyover country means less than nothing to them.

Can't wait to see how the Obama-worshippers in the MSM spin this one. Heck, by the end of next week, it will be "racist" not to think of small-town America as a bunch of bitter, gun-crazy religious xenophobes.

There is more to Obama’s remarks than the stupid white guy sentiment. He reveals that his own anti-trade remarks were simple pandering to the unions.

The fact that rural towns have not regenerated can be blamed in a large part on the radical environazis. They don’t want rural towns to regenerate, except in their prescribed image. The environazis oppose small family farms, they hate horses and all domestic animals. Heck, they hate people and would prefer that everyone live in little boxes in the big cities and eat soylent green. I read a quote that said that the only species that the left would like to see made extinct are humans.

He stole this part from McQueeg’s thoughts.

“antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
