That is certainly the impression this whole episode gives.

I have thought the whole Bosnia sniper fire story just bizarre to make up bs like that in an age where everything is virtually video verifiable. I thought it a crucial mistake, unnecessary, and inexplicable for seasoned pols. The biggest of the campaign and potentially fatal ( it should be ).

For B. Clinton to resurrect the story after it died down, try to justify it in the way he did, just seems so politically stupid. And I don't believe they are so stupid. Well, maybe they are.

But more likely, they are tanking this thing. They are taking the fall. Maybe the theory is that if she just quit, her supporters would lose their enthusiasm, and she would not be the fighter that she hopes posterity will view her as. If Obama can beat her fair and square, it will tell the dems. that they have a legitimate nominee that outplayed and outlasted Clinton, and it would be easier to get her supporters to back him fully. It would really fire up Obama's people.

That was my thought also. Bill Clinton could not be this stupid. Then again he did get involved with Monica. Maybe he is trying to save the nation from Hillary. Nah, more likely he wants get even with her without her catching on.

The funniest line in the Bill Clinton defense of Hillary was the reference to her being 61. I laughed and told my husband to read the item and take note of what not to say to or about a no longer young woman Ha. He might as well have said For heavens sake people, she is old and tires after a long day of trying to save you from yourselves. You know, she is not as young as she used to be. I expect he thought he was being gallant but he just does not know when to shut up. I really do not know which side to come down on about his unhelpfullness. Is he trying to hurt or help or just be relevant?

That was the glaring exception that I thought of too. Maybe their politcal savvy has been overhyped, and they have been given too much credit. But the depth of the stupidity of this, the repitition of it, the breathing of new life into it..... just boggles the mind. ( But hey, it is kind of happy boggle. I've gotta bottle of champaign waiting for that day when the white house is no longer, and permanently out of their reach )

There is a quote from back in the 90's on the "Clinton Chronicles" tape from an Arkansas Supreme Court Judge and former State Senator who says "The clintons would rather climb a tree to tell a lie than stay on the ground and tell the truth".

They are pathological liars and have been recognised as such for over a decade and a half.
