On April 5 I attended a support rally in Prescott for Sen. John McCain.
I carried a sign with a photo of a war-torn child from Iraq and an anti-war sign from Moveon.org.
Local police told me I had a right to be in the crowd and close to the stage.
Three Navy/Army men were in front of me. I told them I loved them and I support them 100 percent - just not this war based on lies. They thanked me for my gratitude and belief in democracy.
Right away McCain's security force asked to leave. I told them that I had spoken with local police and had a right to be there. They told me it was disrespectful to be there and asked me to leave.
When McCain appeared and I held my signs up, at least three men surrounded me and blocked my signs with theirs. Then the crowd turned hostile. Someone called me a bitch and told me to get "the f---" out of there. Another ripped the photo of the child from my hands, and others pushed me through the crowd while hurling threats and foul comments.
They were not allowing people to express their democratic freedoms. They were allowing only perfect crowd-pleasing supporters within this sphere of influence that our so-called democratic media would report on.
So do we live in a democratic society? I think not. The word empire comes closer to mind.
K.R. Russell
Lol, the military illiterate probably from download them from Rev Wright’s soul mates @ al Jazzera.
“So do we live in a democratic society? I think not.”
Yes we do, which is why I vote in opposition to clowns like yourself.
Read you tagline. So, you know my wife, do you?
Campaigns pay for these rallies and should not expect their message to be distracted by a moonbat with a sign. If the people there wanted to see lefty claptrap they would have been home watching CNN or MSNBC.
Only if they "need more white people"
If what this person describes is true, those people’s actions were reprehensible and offensive. Just b/c the shoe is on the other foot doesn’t make it any less shameful.
Too the contrary it appears that good Americans are finally stepping up.
Of course, the report is from the mouth of a demented pinko. You can’rt trust it. Anyway, she had no business being there.
Liberals should not intentionally offend people, and then whine and cry when they get the reaction they should have expected.
An additional thought: just what was the warn-torn child? What would happen if you held up a picture of an aborted child at a NOW rally?
Darn, you beat me to it.
susie
Cry me a river, jackass.
They beat the snot out of a teenager in the Pacific Northwest for carrying an American flag.
If you show up to protest a candidate, expect his supporters to be “uncouth.”
You’re Joking. I hope. Cause HOPE is what we are all about.
Nobody has any idea of what we’re “hoping” for.
S’okay.. it’s all good.
This is NOT what they would do to our side. Hillary’s been caught in the past using union goons to eye gouge dissenters with thumbs to the eye. And this was hiring union labor enforcers who’ve been convicted of such charges in the past so Her Clinton knew what she was getting.
Sounds to me she was looking for trouble from the get-go!
Wonder if she was even there? Odd that she would go all by here lonely liberal self.
I was wondering the same thing. I’m a non-native speaker. You must be, too.
And secret service. Supporters are rarely the type to go violent or disrupt a public speaking event.
The police are very unlikely to have DIRECTED her to go to the front and cause an issue.
I carried a sign with a photo of a war-torn child
Freedom isn’t free, war torn isn’t dead, there is hope for this kids future in a free society. Price paid by fearless Americans for the World to be a better place. Thank you America!
