While McCain does very well on his own, Condoleeza Rice is an asset in New York while Joe Lieberman is not.

Hillary paid for this poll...I can see it now:

"See? See? I told you Obama can't win the big states like I can!!!"

Encouraging but polls this far out are useless, we’ll see how the polls look when the democrats have their nominee and the MSM really starts going at mccain.

Pretty funny, the people in New York actually think Hilary is their Senator.

If Obama can't do significantly better than this in New York he is in BIG trouble.

No kidding. He’ll lose by 97% of electoral college... It’d be a landslide.

If obama does manage to win, it will be by the slightest of margins.

This will either be a race as close as 2000 or a mccain landslide in the electoral college. (I don’t see mccain or obama winning more than 9-10% of the popular vote, I also just can’t imagine obama having any claim to a mandate if he were to win) America cannot vote in an empty-suit, extremist-liberal who’s had less time in the senate than john mccain spent in a cage in vietnam. She just can’t...

Dumb poll. Condoleeza Rice has repeatedly and consistently stated that she is not interested in elective office. Why can’t people leave her alone?

Why can’t people leave her alone?

Because this is a poll. In other words, it is an editorial opinion by an organization that wants to push its liberal agenda. In other other words, they want to encourage McCain to choose between Condi and Joe L, either of which ensures a 'Rat win; both being non-starters for VP.

I’d at least trust her to look out for my interests more than I’d trust Obama.

Which is saying almost nothing.

A NY result like this on November 4th would be a very early indication of a 40+ state win for McCain.

Huh? There’s a generic McCain-Obama, McCain-Clinton head to head as well.

To be fair, McCain has been slipping a little (or rather Obama has been recovering his favorables) in the Rasmussen daily tracking poll.

This is astonishing. It also makes a case for McCain choosing an urban-based running mate.

Maybe not but many Americans are gullible. And politically correct and cannot conceive that anyone in the Presidency would do anything to harm the country.
But lately here is my nightmare scenario. Say McCain wins but the Dems add a few seats in the House and win, as expected, 6 to 7 Senate seats. That puts them in the upper 50’s and in many cases they will be able to peel off a couple of weak-kneed Pubbies to get to 60. So the House passes a big tax increase, the Senate goes along and McCain vetos. But the veto is easily overriden. So the economy is toast and presto the Republicans get the blame and the Dems pick up even more seats in 2010 and 2012.
