Another part of the book that the report criticizes deals with a Supreme Court decision overturning a Texas law banning sexual contact between people of the same sex.
The authors wrote that the Supreme Court decision had a "benefit" and a "cost." The benefit, it said, was to strike down a rarely enforced law that could probably not be passed today, while the cost was to "create the possibility that the court, and not Congress or state legislatures, might decide whether same-sex marriages were legal."
Gee, imagine that, a textbook that actually gives a Constitutional perspective.

Of course liberals are never biased. Their views are simply "mainstream."

Here is the website for the textbook including chapters, study guides, and a synopsis of each section.

Most people thought the earth was flat back in the day. Doesn’t mean the majority is always right.

This is only being reviewed because it might present too conservative of a viewpoint. If it was some leftwing whacko viewpoint, the publisher would have just dismissed any complaints.

High School Student Raises Questions About Textbook Bias
I would bet that it wasn't the student's idea. It was most likely the idea of a NEA teacher, or a liberal teacher, or a liberal parent. More credibility would be given to the questions regarding the book's or author's "bias" if if was a student making the charge.

Possibly. But the last few lines of the article make it sound like this kid is a real pot-stirrer.

Had this been a student pointing out a liberal bias in a textbook, I venture to guess most posters here would be supportive.
I think the point being missed here is that the student is actually taking this much of an interest.......but that’s just me.

The other thread concerned mostly Global Warming, of which this kid is a mindless robot.
