She wouldn't bring any political base to the ticket, since she doesn't have one. She wouldn't bring any regional advantage, since McCain is almost certain to beat either Democrat in Rice's native state of Alabama, and almost certain to lose to either Democrat in Rice's adopted state of California. And while McCain has tied his candidacy to the Iraq occupation, he maintains some distance from the Bush administration by charging that until recently the war was woefully mismanaged. Rice, as national security adviser in Bush's first term, was one of the mismanagers.
She would, however, provide three things that McCain could really use: relative youth, undeniable pizzazz and photogenic diversity.
The Republican Party is in danger of presenting a ticket that looks like a tintype portrait of yesterday -- while the Democratic Party shows the nation a YouTube video of tomorrow.
All right, there's another problem. Rice has described herself as "mildly pro-choice" on abortion and pronounced her support for affirmative action "if it does not lead to quotas." Given McCain's apostate views on immigration, global warming and campaign finance, it's hard to see how he could pick someone with so little regard for the Republican Party's bedrock views.
So I won't hold my breath. But I can't help but imagine having another controversial, larger-than-life character wade into the fray, one who not only raises McCain's big wager on Iraq but also takes us further into terra incognita on issues of race and gender. Whatever you think of Condoleezza Rice, she's a formidable woman with more qualifications than almost any other vice presidential choice I can think of. We'd get to watch another brilliant political novice try to take the country by storm.

No.Period.
No to Condi.
Condi understands the Second Amendment, from when the men her neighborhood when she was growing up had to patrol the area to keep the lynching types away. The government couldn’t be trusted and would have systematically confiscated guns from black people who owned them, if there had been registration and licensing requirements. She knows it’s not some antiquated idea that became obsolete in the 19th century. And she’s brilliant and extremely knowledgeable. I’d love to see her as VP.
Plus it would make Hillary livid, which would be icing on the cake.
Answer: Not only no but Hell No.
True. But I thought Condi had a spine. She evidently lost it.
I am assuming the writer thinks condi is a good strong conservative, if that were the case I wouldnt want her for mcpains vp. Since she is pretty much inept at sec state she’d make a great vp for a rino. I want his presidency to be an utter failure. rinos need to be culled from the party.
I understand that she is pro-choice.
No Thanks!
Demonstrable enemy of Israel.
Pass.
Yeah, mildly pro-choice in her words. So babies can be mildly dead?
If the State Department were a country, at least we could declare war on it.
I believe that McCain has had Mitt Romney in mind since February 8th. I believe he is looking over a wide range of possibilities just in case there is another candidate that would work better than Romney. However, Romney was governor of a state that has similar dealings with the left that McCain has had in Arizona. That McCain has been able to get the endorsement from the very left wing Arizona Republic is an achievement in political gamesmanship. This is an area that Mitt Romney will compliment McCain very well. And, Mitt Romney has an eloquence that will win over the legions of voters up to their eyeballs with Clinton-Obama Democrap.
Nah. No "gamesmanship." It's because he's a liberal.
And Romney's worse than McCain, which takes a whole lotta doin'.
Indeed.
Puke and double puke.

She is pro-abortion and anti-2nd amendment...this will really help McQueeg with the conservative base. /s
No. ...too anti-Israel and pro-Russia.
We need to move NEA,State, and the UN to Iran. That would solve our Iran problem.
