After years of becoming progressively more negative, public views of the United States have begun to improve, according to a BBC World Service Poll across 34 countries.
Let me guess. It’s because we have a black man and a woman, both anti-war to one degree or another, in serious contention for the Presidency, thereby demonstrating that we’re learning to not be such narrow-minded, warmongering imperialists.
Does that about sum it up?
Ha! The world is in “Hope-nosis”!
I still think the rest of the world sucks! Poll that you BBC nancy boys!!
It’s probably more to do with the fact that you are having an election at all - and one that is (and is continuing to be) very closely run. That is forcing an analysis of why by the world’s media, and that is forcing a detailed examination of US politics that is rarely made (particularly domestic issues).
Basically, the profile of the USA is being significantly raised. As some say, there is no such thing as bad publicity!
Dang it - that statement just dropped the world’s opinion of the US by a whole percentage point! And just when you were beginning to get somewhere... :)

[After years of becoming progressively more negative]
This doesn’t surprise me, with liberals going overseas and constantly slamming their own country it’s bound to give the rest of the world the view that we are just as crappy as they are.
Didn’t care before. Don’t care now.
The USA doesnt care what the world thinks. Only stupid liberals and socialists think that it matters.
Will I ever change??? Sadly ....no
