During his quest for island Democrats to "vote for Hillary Clinton", former President Bill Clinton mingled last night with residents of a public housing project, shared with businessmen in a Condado hotel, and raised funds for his wife's campaign.

Upon arriving by private jet to Luis Muñoz Marín Airport, Clinton visited Elizabeth Miller, the mother of a girl with cerebral palsy, at the Luis Llorens Torres housing project.

Shortly afterwards, some women practically threw themselves at the former President while en route to the project's Monserrate "Kike" Ríos basketball court.

At the court, Clinton took only 4 1/2 minutes to explain to some 500 residents why his wife should return to the White House, not as First Lady, but as President of the United States.

He was introduced by Puerto Rican Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, who asked attendees to be quiet so they could listen to their visitor, according published reports in the [Puerto Rican newspaper] El Nuevo Día.

Also present on the stand were Puerto Rico Democratic Party Chairman Roberto Prats, Senate President Kenneth McClintock, former Governor Carlos Romero Barceló, attorney José Alfredo Hernández Mayoral, Ricky Rosselló, and legislator Jorge Colberg.

Clinton made promises concerning health, job creation, and energy costs. "Hillary will provide everyone in Puerto Rico a health plan," said Clinton, who spoke in English and drew applause from the crowd. "And she will also eliminate caps on Medicaid funds," he added.

"But what's most important," he pointed out, "is that she has a plan to bring more jobs to Puerto Rico and give work to people here. She is going to create opportunities for the future."

According to Clinton, his wife will reduce energy costs to create jobs and savings. "Vote for Hillary for President and she will do that," he said.

Same ole RAT formula. Promis ‘em anything to get their vote but give ‘em higher taxes and more laws and a whole lot less freedom.

The Obama camp has a rep there already (since mid-March).... my family and my husband’s family live on the Island and they’ve been reporting that Obama’s campaign is picking up a lot of steam.... also, in PR there are a lot of Afro-Antillanos descendants (from Africa’s West Coast), so that’s a huge voting bloc for Barack.... my brother-in-law volunteers for a local politician’s campaign, and he says that Obama’s people in PR are better organized than Hillary’s.... Obama and Michelle are scheduled to travel to PR in early May....

yes, he thinks it belongs to him just like his wifey thinks the presidency belongs to her and no one else. Let them take it elsewhere. They don’t deserve to be in such a historical and gracious home. They don’t know how to live in a manner suiting that historical and gracious hom.
