You guys are both right. I've built custom cabinets for McMansions, using cherry wood that was unheard of (by me anyway) when I first started, so many moons ago.
Within the industry, we class McMansions by what they don't have: Terrazzo floors, oak wainscoting etc - etc. They are like big motel rooms with fancy windows.
