Through Clinton aides, Chelsea has directed reporters to ask Stanford for the document. But Stanford says it doesn't have a copy in its library, and Rakove, who does have one, says that only Chelsea can give the green light. The thesis, says Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines, "was written to satisfy an academic requirementnot media curiosity."
The pressure needs to be brought, hard, on Stanford U. and the Stanford Dept. of History. This thesis is not merely the record of some adolescent musings..... it is (supposed to be) a piece of documentary HISTORY involving first-hand accounts from some of the Clintonista participants in historical events. No self-respecting historians should be allowed to deep-six a document purporting to present a thorough account (however biased) of the Irish peace process. That's the angle that Stanford should not be allowed to resist, unless they are all truly servile phonies bereft of academic self-respect. They are trying to enable (perhaps) an Orwellian re-writing of history..... or if they document will support Shrillary's fantasies then of course there should be no problem with releasing it promptly!
