Paging Janet Reno.... Janet Reno.... Please pick up a white courtesy phone...
Do you think Islamberg is the next cult compound raided?
Lucky for them Janet Reno isn’t AG, they would be dead by now
A little unfair to refer to these guys as “LDS”, although people refer to that group of military funeral-picketing losers as “evangelical Christians”, so ...
The majority of Mormons may not grasp the con of their religion, but know better than this.
I remember Waco.
It’s not a temple.
According to Federal guidelines, it must now be referred to as a “compound”.
Is it just me or does this remind you of the raid against David Koresh and the Branch Davidians back during Janet Reno’s days?
Hmmm, a 16 year old girl claims to be forcefully married to a 50-year old man and bore him a child. And this results in the massive police and child protection raid, where hundreds are arrested and seized?
And this is worse than six and nine year old girls being forcefully married to 45 year old men (like Aisha was to Mohammed) that is still going on to thousands of Muslim girls today?
This is worse than drug dealers addicting, raping, and forcing into prostitution tens of thousands of teenagers and preteenagers every year in the US alone?
Why the selective outrage? Why doesn’t the government act the same against the polygamist Muslims and the drug dealers?
Frankly, Warren Jeff and his fundamentalist Mormon group sicken me - I’ve no respect for people like that. Still, this selectivism, where only white Christian loonies are the bad guys, should be bothersome to all.
I’m surprised that the lefties aren’t coming out of their closet to tell us that the government has no business regulating sexual relations of family matters.
Where’s Mitt?
They can’t invade now, it’s not April 19th yet. Leave it to the government to mess things up.
You know, I was thinking- this is the perfect opportunity for Mitt Romney to display his statesmanship and negotiate a peaceful end to this.
At Waco, the only way to save those children was to burn them...
The young news reader on radio sounded overjoyed to call this ‘another Waco.’ What are they teaching in schools these days that would produce such a statement?
That is probably where they keep their sacred mormon undies.
Watched the footages of the raid on national T.V. I have to wonder, sometimes, exactly what the fed employees use for brains.
Clearly visible in the footages where the buses are carrying the children away is that the buses are marked as being Baptist Church buses. Really friggin brilliant when raiding a mormon sect. Whether true or not, it makes it APPEAR that the govt and baptists are in cahoots against mormons. Are they trying to ignite a religious war?
Only good thing is they did not go burn the children to death in order to protect them, like Reno would have done.
Just another good example of why the most frightening words you will ever hear is “We are from the govt and we are here to help”.
“...since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.”
Not to diminish the sickness of this, but which part justifies all the drama? I guarantee there are *plenty* of underage girls around the country giving birth (or not) and the circumstances aren’t investigated, and the fathers are very often much older men. Of course, it must be the “married” part that gets their dander up.
