I live in New Zealand and know of Malaysia reasonably well. Nice to hear from you. You write:

I wonder who the Malay government perceive to be the threat that would necessitate purchasing anti-aircraft missiles. Would it be Indonesia? Or perhaps Burma/Myanmar?
If either of those two, I think your government is probably very wise to have some good protection: Malaysia is surrounded by some fairly nasty folk. Pity your government isn’t buying off the US in that case — their missiles will last alot longer and come with the American Guarantee.
