Actually, not only may Jimmy be deployed again, but it’s my understanding that Jack McCain (the one @ the Naval Academy) may be joining the Marines and could be deployed in the fall. So there could be two HVTs out there.

I’m of two minds about the story itself. I completely sympathize with McCain’s desire to kill Jimmy stories in order to protect his son. And I’d hope that when McCain becomes President and if his sons are deployed that the media acts in the same way they did with Prince Harry (that’s asking alot... I know). However, damn.. does that story make McCain look good. The NY Times has lots of atonement they need to do concerning the Vickie Iseman non-story before McCain lets them back on the Straight Talk Express again.

The family walks the walk. Those two wannabe CIC aren’t fit to polish his boots. I know a lot here don’t like McCain but none can say his family hasn’t been will to fight for this country.

“If McCain makes President, will we have a “Prince Harry” situation?”

The problems will start as soon as a photo is published.

The marines better get him out then.

McCain’s Marine son returns from Iraq

I don’t get it, does fogbound have a post on that thread?

I think you are mistakenly wrong that the Dems would not allow their son/daughters to serve their country. There are many Dems in high office, maybe not running for the Presidency that are truly Patriotic Americans that dearly love our country. Just the powers that be in the DNC dictates who will do the running. You still gotta give Kerry credit for at least "being there" doing a tour, albeit under controversy.

Heck, we have SFC/SSgts that have yet to do a tour in Iraq or Afghan while we have Marines on their 3-5th tours and Soldiers on their 3d. Maybe you can out THEM out instead of shirking their duty. I'm close to doing on my 2d tour in this upcoming year.

I said presidential candidate...no demoncrat could ever being nominated who did not loath our country and its military. I give John Kerry no credit at all since he was no credit to the uniform.

I feel good about two things.

First, no Freeper took this post as a license for McCain bashing.

Second, I commend Senator McCain on both his approach to his son’s service and the Senator’s religion. He tries to keep some of his life private both for his family and for his supporters.

When you call him “Juan” say it with a smile: he is one helluva fine man.

...the son/daughter would be depicted as a sympathetic victim of a war-mongering, power mad neo-con/nazi president.

Yes...and that son/daughter is there to single handedly negotiate a peace agreement between all fractions of the Middle East ... the Israelites, the Palestinians, the Shiites, the Sunnites, the Kurds, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranians, the Saudi Arabians, Al Queda, the Kuwaitians, the Lebanese, Ben Laden, himself and anyone else I have forgotten.

That son/daughter will also, apologize for all the 'wrongs' the USA has done to these people and will offer up reparations in the amount of 20,000,000 zillion dollars to each and every person that is living, has ever lived, or will ever live in the Middle East...for eternity.

As misguided and maddening as Juan is, the fact is he loves and believes in our country enough to have his son serve in the armed forces.

Well... even thought they had to sign papers to let his son join because the son was so young, McCain's son decided on his own.

It's something I hear and read about from the left on how people do or do not send their sons to war when in fact, it is the son's or daughter's decision and not the parents. In this country, parents don't send their children to war. I'm not sure exactly what country the left think they're in, not the U.S., that's for damn sure.

“He already is, thanks to the New York Slime!”

If anything happens to young McCain, someone should nuke the NYT. In fact, even if he stays safe (and I pray he will), someone should still nuke the NYT just for grins.

I guess I’ll just vote for the old man — I owe the young marine, that much.

Being a Marine Lance Corporal in Iraq is a very hazardous job. Check the casualty statistics by rank.

No one can question the McCain family’s willingness to carry their share of the burdens in our nation’s wars.

Some say that it’s not necessary to have experienced the military to be an effective commander in chief. Nonetheless, I prefer that they have.

That automatically downgrades Hillary and Obama for me. (And, of course, for so many other things they represent.)
