You know, my daughter is a seventh grade teacher, and you won’t believe the crap she, and most good looking female teachers in her school take, from their male counter parts joking about what they might be doing after school. This type of conduct makes her, and me, frankly, just sick with disgust, that someone in a profession of trust could so casually disregard their positions for a “fling”.
Have they complained about the sexual harassment?
Disgust is the correct emotion. But we should all come to grips with the fact that "education" is not a profession.
The unions took over the "teaching" profession and turned it into "education". Consequently, "education" changed from a profession into just a job.
Professions, by their numerous unwritten codes of behavior and standards ruthlessly rid themselves of those who do not live up to those codes and standards. Jobs, through the unions, protect and promote those who do not live up to the published codes and standards. Plus, jobs often embrace the unwritten behavior of "whatever I can get away with".
Into this witches brew mix a massive amount of federal and state government control and you are guaranteed to develop and coddle scum as employees.
Until we remove unions and federal/state governments from our schools and return them to true local control, we will see more and more disgusting "educator" behavior.
Sadly, my immediate advice to your daughter is; "If you don't like pigs, get out of the pigsty."
Fortunately in our school we treat each other with the greatest respect, and are very professional in the way we conduct ourselves.
God bless your daughter.
