“Obama’s electorate is the distilled essence of liberalism — academics, government workers, blacks and guilty affluent whites. I don’t know whether Clinton can catch Obama or not. But, if he’s the nominee, the Reagan Democrats will almost certainly be McCain Democrats...and the landslide follows.”
Maybe so. Obama has been running a campaign both vaporous and dishonest. I expect a clinton-mccain race to be a close race. Obama v McCain otoh has a larger chance to be wide-open, either way. The good news is that things are lining up to favor McCain, so long as he does the right thing to win, and the people get wise to the real Obama.
Obama must not become the President. He will be a disaster.
Yet, he could so easily make a fool of himself -- either losing his temper or revealing a penchant for senior moments.
Against Obama, McCain should win big...but his situation is exceedingly delicate.
I know where Academia is, but where is Jacksonia?

Think of the area settled by the Scots-Irish, in and around the Appalachian Mountains.
Inadequate map. Off to the East of Charlotte, NC - in the unhighlighted area - you could see the Waxhaws area of the Carolinas, where Andrew Jackson was born and grew up. (There’s some dispute between the states about his precise birthplace.)
