Because it's a wasteful, annoying bit of statism. Temporal hokey pokey, if you will. Most importantly, the majority of us didn't want it and enjoyed watching the rest of the country walk around with jet lag for two weeks while we didn't have to. Then Mitch shows up and ignores the will of the voters, saying he knows better than us, selling the idiotic policy as some great pro-business panacea.
Now we know the stupid program actually wastes energy.
The obvious solution to this fiasco is to move the clocks ahead and leave them there.

Maybe the clock going off an hour earlier in the morning was more strain than it could bear.

All this time changing business REALLY upsets the livestock. Every time it happens, mine go off their feed. ;)
