Authentic or not; my father, who will be 93 this Oct., was culling through some old papers and stuff in various boxes and showed me several text books he used getting HIS 8th grade education. The subject matter was very similar to the Kansas test. The stuff that passes for education today is a joke.
That's the problem. Kids trust what their teachers say including the lies of evolution and pre-historic time. The fact is they are spoon fed bad information all the time: evolution, global warming, sexual identity, etc.
I think it’s a matter of semantics...precambrian is a period of time that does not match the definition of era. They use the general word “era” is we would use it to define a period of time that starts and ends.

I'm sure blam can straighten it out or someone else on the GGG pinglist can.

2. Is it OK to say you live in da hood, or you from da hood? Both answers are OK.
3. Write a composition of about 10 words to show how much you hate Bush.

LOL — you nailed it.
I "copped my first feel" in 8th grade. Probably makes me a Puritan by today's standards, but was a great year for me!
What I meant to ask was, name all of the periods, epochs and eras including which fit into which. (Example: Paiban age is in the Furongian epoch in the Cambrian period.)
It doesn’t matter where you are, it’s always shorter to New York.
And let’s see: Tuesday, Thursday, Tardes and Terça-feira?
Of course there is a pre cambrian era
the kid is a smart ass.
My thoughts too. Stufflebeam is some boring old German American name going back a few generations. This kid is not from recent immigrants...... he is obviously a budding “white male oppressor” .....
Because he is simply paying attention and learning all the time. He isn’t brain dead or has an ipod welded to his head
Oh.. you were WAY ahead! First time I played “spin the bottle”.. Totally grossed me out.
I ended up with the overweight, sweaty boy from my ballroom dancing class! (thank God we wore gloves).
Never ran so fast in my life!
Did get my first kiss from a boy I liked and he even though he’s pond scum now (if he still lives)
I’ll never forget it!
Today, tomorrow, Tuesday, Thursday.
One my more used answers in Geo101 class was
47 - because ice cream has no bones.
Who is wealthier? A farmer with a large, organic farm or a urban-dwelling man with a room full of gold?
(Ahem) I leave the heavy lifting for our resident PhD in archaeology, Freeper Coyoteman.
A bit outside of my area, but I think the kid is right.
Thank you!
This one room was school was built in the early 1880s with money donated by my Great Grandfather. The Engand family donated the land and the England girls were the teachers. My Grandmother was an England and one of the teachers. Those that could afford to pay tuition did so, those that could not had their tuition paid by the Malone and England families.
Members of my family, including my father, attended Malone School. My Grandfather out lived my Grandmother. When he died we found several old steamer trunks in the attic of their home. Among them were tests given when my Grandmother taught in this one room school around the turn of the century. The tests were similar to the test shown above.
But at Malone School they did not require that the student know how much a bushel of grain weighed or measurements and weights used by farmers. But other than that the questions were quite similar.
All of the problems were difficult and I suspect no 8 graders could not do them today. I doubt if most of those with a batchelors degree could pass those tests.
My dad, who had only a 8th grade education, read 3 to 5 books a week until just days before he died.
Dad was a student of political science. He once was discussing politics with a PhD. The PhD said to my Dad,"You obviously did your doctoral thesis on this subject. Where did you take your PhD. I like to get your thesis and read it."
Dad just said, "I only have an 8th grade education." The Phd said, That is hard to believe. "How could you have possibly learned all you know?"
Dad replied, "You may not have heard of them. They are about 8 inched high, 5 inches wide and about 2 or so inches thick. They are called books and to learn one just reads them."
The look on the PhD's face was priceless.
