"....the words of his friend, mentor, associate, advisor, inspiration, spiritual adviser and pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, are being taken out of context and that the man has been misjudged on the basis of snippets put on a loop that keeps running. He seems to think that the poisonous bigotry, racism and anti-Americanism that has been flowing onto television screens if put into context would somehow be cleaned up."

Then why has the Reverend gone into hiding and why was he banished from the campaign? Why doesn't BHO get him back out there to put his words back into the correct context?

Didn’t you hear that he went back to his church and was greeted with cheers?

You’d also have to believe he was not free to go elsewhere. (I’ve switched for much, much less from somewhere I had a much stronger attachement to.)

Of course he would get cheers.

I got into an argument with some idiot on YouTube who was a member of that church and he tried to claim to me that those who cheered Wright’s racist sermon before were in the minority and that most of those didn’t cheer him.

Obama joined the Trinity Church because he said it's teachings/theology/ideology/activism attracted him (according to his own book). He has matured in his own core values through twenty years of attendence, indicating that the pastor (Wright) had become a close friend, mentor, and spiritual advisor.

Obama has stayed there because he agrees with what is taught there.

What is taught there is Black Liberation Theology, which the Church itself boldly, unabashedly, and unashamedly proclaims itself.

This theology has nothing to do with traditional Christianity but has everything to do with Obama's own core values. It explains his own comments and actions, that of his wife, and that of, of course, Jeremiah Wright.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY

I hope you’re right. If this guy gets into the Oval Office he’ll make Carter look like a conservative.
On the plus side those of us who grew up with Uncle Ron (and thought he was the rule rather than the exception) will get a real life history lesson on what life was like during the Carter years. I’ll buy a leisure suit, watch re-runs of “Welcome Back, Kotter”, and sign up for an est course.
