We will only get serious about this World War after a major U.S. city or two becomes a smoking crater, or a school massacre occurs were our children are slaughtered like spring lambs.

Well, if they are recruiting blonde hair, blue eyed terrorists and we are smart, half of them will be CIA agents. It would be interesting to know how smart we are. You would think we would find Obama Bin Laden really fast if we could get our people on the inside.

Why in the world would they come in from Dulles??? Idiot reporters.

For a few grand they can hire a Mex coyote to bring them across the wide open southern border. With oil prices where they are, the arabs aren't lacking financial resources.

If this next generation of Islamics is so western and savvy they won't try to come in legitimately.

Hayden only says things that are history.

He knows they're here, he knows what they want to do and the CIA (Constricted Intelligence Anonymous) can't do anything about it.

Luckily, they're stupid and don't understand the complexity of the US culture and economy. They'll hit things they think will immediately make Americans fall on their knees in submission. Instead, we'll absorb and rebuild. It will be bad, but nowhere near catastrophic.

Wait, whoa! If they aren't going to look Middle Eastern or Islamic, does that mean they might have to take off their shoes and submit to the amatuer proctology hour? Maybe the TSA types will actually catch a few (instead of probing grannies in wheelchairs). Or does this mean everyone gets the finger?

Eventually this is going to lead to travel papers and checkpoints all over. Just like the iron curtain countries were in the '60s.

Lovely.

Islam attacks when we are at our weakest financially and they also attack when new politicians take office. So this next coming quarter would in my mind be a moderate level chance of attack but early spring next year would be a high likelyhood of attack.

If we are hit, I suspect our citizens will expunge Muslims by making their lives very painful even if the government does nothing. I feel comfortable that the nuclear possibility is distant, even dirty bombs. This will not stay so in the next decade.

Let’s say chemicals or a dirty bomb were used and 1000 people died at some form of organized gathering. The population and economy will not falter and fail like 911. I doubt they will attack a school either like in Beslan. Those poor kids there did not deserve to die, but James Woolsey did publically state the Moscow apartment bombing/invasion of Chechyna was a staged FSB job. Children are not really an Islamic focus as a norm either. Killing our kids means they know that our armed population will begin killings of their Muslim movement here in the States.

Eventually, either North Korea, Iran or Pakistan orginating nuke terror will be used on one of our cities. At that point, Mecca and Medina should be vaporized and if any traces come from Russia, an equivalent Russian city(s) should be vaporized.

I used to think that it would take a nuclear or wholesale chemical attack to finally get the attention of most Americans about the Islamofascist threat. Maybe I’m cynical, but at this point I don’t think even that will do the job. Too many people I know are convinced that the United States is the source of evil in the world, or that somehow we have brought the war on ourselves through our actions - by purchsing oil, supporting Israel, voting Republican. I really think that as people see the flash and feel the heat from the oncoming shockwave many will be cursing George Bush or their own country.

Having said that, I think a large-scale attack would lead to social disintegration and chaos. I hate to say that, since I love this country and its culture, but I could see the following scenario following a nuke attack on several American cities:

1. Some parts of the country would simply surrender - Berkeley, the upper West Side of New York, much of New England, or any place with a majority of Democrats or self-described liberals. They’d view surrender as a better option than defense, blaming the attack on our own aggressive use of force in the Bush administration.
2. Some places and populations would experience mass conversions. Given the choice between death and conversion, some will take the easy road. I can see this happening among the African-American community, especially in poorer populations. They’ve been hearing how America is a racist rathole for decades; an attack would deliver proof, and they can finally shuck all pretense at an allegience to the country.
3. Some places would decide to fight back, only to be stopped by federal bureaucrats interested in enforcing hate speech laws, discrimination statutes, and other laws in such as a way as to protect Islam in any form.
4. Other places would decide to fight back and not only take up the battle against Islamofascism, but also take on those inside the country who are preventing them from fighting.

I really, really hope that this is just bad science fiction and that folks wake up to the reality of what we’re dealing with. You’d be amazed at the number of people who are either willfully or certifiably clueless. It’s times like this I fear for my son’s future.
