That did not mean accusations of premeditation had not been leveled. The prosecution’s star witness, Lance Cpl. Humberto Mendoza, testified that Tatum ordered him to murder the innocent members of the household, then Tatum did it himself when Mendoza refused. Tatum denied the charge. Tatum also passed his lie detector test, while Mendoza failed his. And at the time Mendoza, a native of Venezuela, was “trying to get his application for U.S. citizenship released by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which is holding up his papers.”
Now that LCpl Tatum has had his charges dropped, I wonder what will happen to Mendoza. NCIS and the prosecution doesn't need to hold him in limbo anymore.

Unfortunately, this canard was invented and popularized, not by terrorist propagandists to discredit an enemy army, but by American politicians to demonize U.S. soldiers and drain their own nation's will to fight....Not to pick nits, but the Haditha hoax WAS perpetrated by insurgent propagandists who found a willing dupe, a simpleton named Tim McGuirk of TIME Magazine, to light a match and get a little brushfire started.
Unfortunately, it was political-hack military officers and their civilan bosses who, out of irrational fear of the Democrat newsrooms, then fanned the flames and ran like cowards from the fire they created, even as they tried to extinguish that fire by throwing eight heroic Marines on the blaze.
The disgrace of it all is beyond words.

I just saw Murtha mentioned in the table of contents of a 2007 issue of the Air Force Association magazine. I presume his political survival is as cynical a story as that of another traitor Senator Tom Harkin.
No doubt the supporters of Harkin are ignorant and/or apathetic of his support for Communist daughter-raping Daniel Ortega and subsequent blasts from Hades' furnace.
Karma will catch up to the congressman; perhaps in as swift and violent plummet from power as that of Dan Rather.
