His promises mean very little to me by themselves. He is a US Senator and we can see if he is sincere. So far, looks like he isn’t.

Political miracles have been known to happen (Truman 1948). McCain might think about making some adjustments If Bob Barr starts pulling away votes. Lots of surprises have already happened in 2008 (including McCain).
A third party run can only effect McCain before the election. My point was that that will have no effect on McCain after the election.
The only possible thing that can be accomplished by promoting Barr is electing the Democrat. If that is what you want to do, go ahead. Nothing anybody is going to say is going to stop you.
