a baby can be a punishment deserving of a solution, any solution, that serves the selfish needs of the person to whom it is perceived as a punishment - the mother

how much better is the life, the moral life, of the mother who accepts the responsibility for the choices by which she conceived a child when she was little prepared for it

what is initially viewed as an insurmountable burden can become a life-building field test of her own morality, sense of responsibility, perseverance, and non-selfish love

it is also a field test of those same attributes from her family and closest friends

It is a measure of how far we, as a society, have devolved when this statement by Obama can be roundly applauded by the majority of Americans and pooh poohed away by spin.

“Punished with a baby.” But that's how he feels. He believes in abortion for any reason or no reason through all nine months of gestation. He also believes it is OK to kill injured babies that miraculously escape the abortionists’ knives. As state senator here in Illinois, he bottled up and singlehandely killed the state Born Alive Protection Act, a bill introduced after a whistle-blower nurse revealed that babies were being murdered after failed abortions in at least one Chicago area hospital. So, if Obama thinks babies are 'miracles' then why has he taken such pains to support partial birth abortion and to oppose intervention to save the lives of abortion survivors?
